50 | LEHIGH ALUMNI BULLETIN | CLASS NOTES will attend Brandeis in the fall of 2026. Zachary (2009) is a junior in high school. Although no longer a swimmer, Daryl stays competitive by competing as a bodybuilder. Rob Phillips wrote in with some exciting sports news: “Michael York and Jared Horowitz ’95 continue to play every top golf course in the tri-state area. Michael’s handicap is coming down, and he is looking forward to trying out for the Maccabia Games in 2026.” (I could not win the C flight of my club championship if my life depended on it.) Rob and Rachel (Bixenholt) Phillips’ twins, Andrew and Julia, are currently sophomores at Vanderbilt. Michelle (Leonard) Cuddeback and Brad Cuddeback’s ’93 daughter, Katherine ’23, recently got engaged to Tyler Smith ’23. The other Cuddeback kids include William ’24, Michael ’28 and Tommy, a high school senior. Andy Frishman lives in Connecticut with his family. Their daughter is in her first year at the University of Colorado, and their son is a high school junior. Andy is still running a veterinary practice and is a jazz enthusiast and amateur saxophonist. His career highlight so far was getting to play with former New York Yankee Bernie Williams! (Caveat–this time everything is true about Andy.) Remember how I told you that Sam Schwerin and his daughter do a tad bit of mountain climbing? (Emma is the youngest woman in the world to complete the seven summits and youngest American to summit Everest.) Well, Sam, who also flies small planes for a hobby, bought a Czech Republic fighter jet. I wish I could post a picture. (I thought my golf addiction was expensive.) And side note, he also beat cancer. He is the most interesting man in the world. ’95 Bridget O'Connell, 1840 Sycamore St., Bethlehem, PA 18012. (610) 8686605 (H); bmo3@lehigh.edu From Lehigh to the global stage, Jason Anhorn recently appeared as Player 326 on Netflix’s “Squid Game: The Challenge.” Read more about his experience in the feature of the January 29, 2026, edition of the Lehigh Alumni News. Lori (Montemurro) Goldstein has released her seventh novel, “Kiss, Marry, Kill,” under Lori Gold (Harper Collins, April 7), a spin on the popular conversation game of the same name where three best friends and founders of a health and wellness app play the game at their summer outing and wake up in an alternate universe where they have to live out the consequences of those choices. Her 2025 novel, “Romantic Friction,” was featured in a recent Alumni Bulletin. ’96 Jen (Crimmins) Keen, 17 Windsor Drive, Foxborough, MA 02035. (508) 5435036; jen@keensense.com Hi, Class of ’96! By the time this reaches you, our 30th Reunion will be in the books—and what a milestone it was! I look forward to sharing all the news and updates I gathered from classmates in a future column. The Reunion will be just one of many reasons I find myself back on South Mountain this year. This fall, my younger son, Max, joins the Lehigh family as an incoming freshman—and he won’t be going it alone. His older brother, Harry, will be a junior, so the two of them will be holding down the Hill together. Needless to say, Brown and White runs deep in our house! I have some very exciting news to report: Stacey Cunningham was the Undergraduate Commencement speaker for the Lehigh Class of ’26! Cunningham is the former NYSE president, the first woman to lead the institution in its over 200-year history. Currently serving on the boards of Cloudflare, the New York Stock Exchange and the Georgetown University Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy, Cunningham is a passionate champion of the role capitalism and free markets play in creating economic growth and societal advancement. She also serves as an advisor to the private equity firm Advent and Uniswap Labs, bringing her proven leadership in technology, innovation and global finance to bear across industries. Congratulations, Stacey! I also have some sad news to share. Marla (Katz) Barr and Alix (Berry) Korpan wrote in to share the heartbreaking news that Jamie (Voronkov) Bernard passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was a proud member of Alpha Phi and a marketing major who built a successful career in talent acquisition. After graduation, she began her adult life in New York City, later living in Connecticut, and most recently in Florida. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Jeremy, and a loving mother to her daughter, Morgan (16), and son, Brody (13), who were the center of her world. Holding Jamie close to our hearts, we like to picture her smiling at a party on the Hill— gold hoops on, a beer in hand, surrounded by friends, dancing her uncoordinated “Jamie bop” with that unforgettable spirit, and somewhere in her magnetic laughter, still asking if anyone’s seen her green Jeep Cherokee. Carrying her with us, may we laugh a little louder, dance a little freer and care for one another with the unwavering loyalty and big-hearted love that defined her life. ’97 Lopa (Patel) Zielinski, Madison, NJ, Lpzielinski@gmail.com ’98 Gregory Kuklinski, gjk4@ alum.lehigh.edu In March, I attended the Patriot League Championship men’s basketball game, a 74-60 win over Boston University sealing their ticket to March Madness with Alan Fornwalt, Tim Miller and Eric Kolasa. It is now the season for our 50th birthday parties! I attended a mini-Lehigh reunion at Carolyn Klimas’ dueling piano 50th birthday party at Hotel Bethlehem, where I saw Carly Lynch, Christine (Davis) Gordon ’99, John Babb ’02, Cindy Beloff ’99 and Chuck Turner ’99. Roy Dean writes that he recently got his sport pilot license at the Quakertown Airport. Congrats, Roy! Bill McQueen recently accepted a position with the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo., in the Office of Research Administration. Andy VanHorn shared that he is now the head of real estate for the Washington Commanders, with his primary project of leading the design, development and delivery of the new 65,000seat, fully enclosed Washington Commanders stadium as it returns to the RFK site in Washington, D.C. With a $3.7B budget, the stadium project is scheduled to start in early 2027 and deliver ahead of the 2030 NFL season. He will be overseeing the mixed-use, entertainment and hospitality district around the stadium, which will consist of 5 to 6 million additional feet of development beyond the stadium itself. He will also redevelop the current stadium site in Maryland, approximately 200 acres, after the new stadium opens in 2030. He started with the Commanders in January 2025 and spent that spring negotiating with the D.C. mayor on a term sheet, and then getting the $1B in D.C. funding for the project approved through City Council by September 2025. Carrie Gallaway Maglia writes that her daughter, Molly, starts at Lehigh in August in the Class of 2030 and she is following in the footsteps of her father, Anthony Maglia ’97, in mechanical engineering. Dan Burkey shared that he was promoted to full professor in chemical engineering at UConn. Maurice Gisler writes that he had the privilege of leading the development of the next-generation HERCULES armored combat recovery vehicle at BAE Systems. In 2025, he concluded the complex development effort, which spanned design, prototype, build and comprehensive vehicle testing. He had the privilege of shepherding a large cross-functional team as head of the program for
