After 30 years as a middle school English teacher and educational consultant, April Pereyra retired and became a property historian! She’s always been interested in the human stories behind homes and buildings, so in March 2024, she founded her new hustle, Stoop Sleuths Property Historians (stoopsleuths.com). April gives credit to the encouragement and practical advice from Drinker dorm and off-campus roommates: Chelsea (Ehring) Mullen (Saltwater Studios), Missy (The Pipeline Connection and the very same Missy referenced above!) and Ellen. On the social front, April has been in touch with other Lehigh alums, such as Cheryl Galante, Lynn (Medvetz) Handley ’91, Tammy (Laspalakis) Berentson, Katie (McDonald) Sacco, Jody Rose-Bronner ’91 and Sue Jerge. Cheryl and April recently attended the Soaring Together Dinner in Montclair, N.J. Recently, April traveled to Argentina, and after posting her arrival on Facebook, she connected with former Brown and White Editor-in-Chief Caroline West, who was also in Argentina. They had a fabulous, spontaneous meetup in Buenos Aires! Dios mío!! Walt Hoehler and his wife have lived on the Upper West Side for 30 years. Walt works in wealth management, while his wife runs an event planning business. Together, they have two kids. One is a member of the Class of 2026 at Syracuse University, and the other is working in the defense industry. Walt took initiative after our 35th Reunion in 2025. Walt emailed us: “I kinda felt inspired by the Reunion and gathered most of the 1990 Alpha Sigs (pledge class) to NYC. We had guys come from as far as Colorado and Florida, along with a 1991 tag-along. Many of us had not seen or spoken to each other in 30+ years, and it was amazing to see everyone again when we got together (in October 2025).” The crew: Ted Geltner, Scott Davis, Jeff Park, Kirby Erlandsen, John Walicki, Rodney Zee ’89, Frank Montgomery, Jake Greene, Damian McShane, Mark Patten and Chuck Zimmer ’91. The weekend included some of them venturing to the Bronx to witness Lehigh Football put a drubbing on Fordham University, 27-6, as they sat among Lehigh’s Marching 97. Some non-football stats that Walt learned over the weekend: The boys are proud parents to many kids, although no grandkids have surfaced yet. This last one: About 50% of his pledge class married women who attended Lehigh. Wow! Phenomenal job, Class of ’90 contributors, and thank you! Who’s next? ’91 Diana (Zoller) Perkins, dianazoller@gmail. com I returned from two days of hiking in the desert just after Easter Sunday and Passover (appropriate for the holiday, no?), not only to get out into nature but also to have a respite from sirens every few hours. I’m really hoping—as usual—for peace in the Middle East. I must sound like a broken record as I’ve been saying this for over two years. (Actually, this conflict has been going on for over 5,000 years.) But hope springs eternal. Thank you so much to Alanna Verdi, who wrote in for the first time. “I wanted to share my very recent happy news of getting engaged to a high school classmate. We met in 1983, lost touch and recently got engaged. We currently reside in Lafayette, Ind. (I know—of all cities to live!). My health has continued to decline from my very rare terminal lung disease lymphangioleiomyomatosis (typically known as ‘LAM’). I am enjoying my time with my soon-to-be college graduate daughter and fiancé. I keep in touch with my Marching 97 Band fellow alum and Delta Chi/Chi Delphia friends.” We all wish you so much happiness and send you strength. Brent Brookler filled me in on the most amazing ski trip. Jon Ross and his wife, PJ (Freidenrich) Ross ’90, hosted a big group at an Airbnb in Telluride, Colo. Brian Marengo, Brent and Jon represented our year. Jon and PJ’s kids, Zack ’21 and Abigail ’23, were also there, and they each brought five friends, all Lehigh grads. The younger generation taught the older ones a new game called Stacks, one of their drinking games perhaps inspired by Beirut or beer pong. I’m sure the older ones told stories of bed races and Greekers eating contests from the good ol’ days! The spring skiing conditions and lots of Engineer/Mountain Hawk spirit made for a great week! Andrea Strong is loving her new-ish job at Bon Appétit as a staff writer/editor. She wrote her first novel, which is out for submission now. I can’t wait to read it! Send me an email with news. Jack and Stacey lived on opposite sides of the third floor in Richards Hall our freshman year. Eleven years later they were married and recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. Both ventured into financial work; Stacey is a commercial loan officer and Jack stays busy as a controller for a fragrance company. They didn’t stray far from Lehigh and settled in Mahwah, N.J., where they raised their daughters Lizzie (22) and Allie (20). Jack stays in touch with his TEP brothers including Kevin Sharp, Steve Harap and Sterling Spatz ’91. Come on Class of ’92—keep sending in your updates! Apparently, I can dance just as well as our president. On the bright side, I heard from plenty of other alums who have kids joining Maddie’s class, including Lee Gold, Mike Bank ’93, Jen (Lev) Dreyer ’95, Denise (Menikheim) Faltischek ’95 and Rich Margolies ’96. See you at the Family Weekend tailgate, where I plan on thoroughly embarrassing my daughter. Christian Olson wrote to me and reminded me about an amazing trip we had in the summer of 1993 to Belgium with Professor Joe Dowling—an absolute legend. I still remember about 10 of us picking up a tiny car and putting it in the middle of the street. We then sat at a bar at the end of the street and watched a tow truck remove the “improperly parked car” an hour or so later. That guy did not have a good morning the next day. Christian is practicing law in South Florida, in the consumer bankruptcy and real estate field. He lives in Delray Beach with his wife Caroline and kids, Nicolas (14) and Ava (13). Mark Florio returned to Long Island after graduation and has been married to Helen for 26 years. They have three daughters, Nina, who graduated from Marist University, Sydney, who is attending Fashion Institute of Technology, and Grace, a high school junior. For the past decade Mark has worked at Barclays in data strategy for the US Consumer Bank. John Comas has been at Merrill Lynch for over 31 years. He and his wife are looking at second homes in the Westchester, N.Y., area. Daryl (Smith) Sissman and her husband David (who met on Jdate in Boston in 2000) have three children and live in Naples, Fla. Their oldest, Sammy (2004), is a junior at Rice University; Gabe (2007), their second, is in the middle of a gap year and
