Summer Bulletin

N O T E S we end up talking about our spring break trip to Clemson. That trip will be one we will all remember until we are good and old! Ah, to be 20 years old again. Instead, it’s crazy that some of us have kids who are making their own spring break memories right now! You must admit, the older generations are a bit more verbose in their updates. I need you all to send me your brag sheet so we can have a nice long column. Like that Måneskin song, “I’m beggin,’ beggin’ you …” but seriously, I’ve got no other updates even though I keep asking you all. Send the information my way, please! Cheers! ’97Lopa (Patel) Zielinski, Madison, NJ, Lpzielinski@gmail.com I was happy to receive an update from Jenny Tzeses, who wrote: “My time at Lehigh as an editor/writer for The Brown &White was great training ground for a career in magazines. After Lehigh, I got my master’s degree in journalism at NYU and had a long career as a magazine editor for publications including “Health,” “Woman’s Day,” “Seventeen” and “Martha Stewart Weddings.” Now, I’m full-time freelance, writing for publications like “Architectural Digest,” “Elle Decor,” “Harper’s Bazaar,” “Cosmopolitan” and “Oprah Daily,” as well as advertising copywriting. After 20 years of living inManhattan, I traded the skyscrapers and subway for an SUV and suburban scenery inMorristown, N.J., where I live with my fancé, Randy Bressler, who I’mmarrying at the end of April. I love getting to see Lehigh friends in the area.” ’98Gregory Kuklinski, gjk4@ alum.lehigh.edu It’s hard to believe, but our 25th Reunion is now scheduled for June 8-11, 2023. In the next few months, we will be starting to put together a planning committee. If you are interested in joining, please send me an email. Please start spreading the word among your friends and classmates. It would be great to see 250 classmates for our 25th! Dr. Anjali Taneja runs an innovative community clinic and advocacy organization in Albuquerque, N.M., called Casa de Salud (casadesaludnm. org), and recently received the NewMexico Ethics in Business Award (ethicsinbusinessnm. com/) titled the PNM Award for Individual Excellence in Ethical Business Practice, in honor of John Ackerman. She received the award based on her health care/healing work she does in Albuquerque, plus emergency room work at the Navajo Nation and her advocacy for statewide policy change. Congrats, Dr. Taneja! Dan Burkey writes that he was awarded tenure in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Connecticut. Note that Dan started as a leader at Lehigh while being a Gryphon on campus. Congrats, Dan! Please continue to share your news, and I will make sure that it makes our class column. I hope this column fnds you all healthy and happy! I have some fun class news to share, as Mike Margitich, wife Hilary, and their three boys (Aidan, Kyle and Trevor) met up with some other Lehigh ski enthusiasts in Okemo, Vt., this past winter. Mike’s family spent the week skiing with Brandon Atkinson, Brandon’s wife, Traci, and their children, Kaylee and Bodhi. On one of the last nights of their trip, Lauren (Weiss) Felt and Brian Felt ’00, who were also in Okemo skiing with their family, stopped by to make it an ofcial Lehigh party! Sounds like a great time, and I’m sure a lot of wonderful adventures were had by all! Celebrating a milestone or an achievement, had a great time with some classmates or just want to say hello?
