SAKSHI ACHARYA is pursuing a degree in civil engineering. She was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. Throughout her experience at Lehigh, Sakshi has focused on sustainable development. She is a member of Engineers Without Borders, where she is researching land use in El Manantial, Dominican Republic, to set up a water distribution system. She works at the Office of Sustainability. Sakshi also is a research fellow through Lehigh’s Mountaintop Initiative, where she has been working on building sensor nodes for realtime stormwater sensing for green infrastructures. This summer, Sakshi will work as an intern for Turner Construction. After graduation, she plans to integrate her sustainability background to pursue a career in structural engineering. NATHANIEL ALTER is pursuing a degree in industrial and systems engineering with a minor in entrepreneurship. He currently is a UN youth representative for the Center for Public Health of Nigeria, where he focuses on helping individuals receive access to quality health care. He is a junior salesforce consultant for Maverick Digital and a former Global Social Impact Fellow at Lehigh, travelling to Sierra Leone to study how underlying socioeconomic factors lead to Ebola infection. In his free time, he enjoys sailing, cycling, and traveling. LIDYA YALEWBEKELE is a junior pursuing a degree in chemical engineering with a certificate in global citizenship. Lidya was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and came to the US for the first time for her undergraduate degree. She currently works as a research and development intern at Mussel Polymers. At Lehigh, Lidya participated in the Global Entrepreneurial Fellowship through the Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation and serves as a UN youth representative for an NGO in Nigeria. After graduation, she plans to integrate her technical background with business to work as a consultant. ALEXANDER CARR is a junior majoring in computer engineering and finance within the Integrated Business and Engineering Honors Program (IBE), with economics and real estate minors.
