In retirement, he sat on the city council and served as mayor of Dana Point, Calif. George H. Redden ’56, Staunton, Va., Oct. 26, 2022. A Delta Upsilon brother, Mr. Redden made his career as a mechanical engineer in the HVAC industry with Westinghouse/McQuay. Richard D. Ronan ’56, Walpole, Maine, Aug. 31, 2022. Mr. Ronan was a Delta Tau Delta brother and ice hockey team member. He spent his career with Day & Meyer, Murray & Young, a moving and storage firm in Manhattan, specializing in art and antiques. He was chief of the volunteer fire department and an award-winning sailor. Henry W. Steinkamp Jr. ’56, Torrance, Calif., Sept. 20, 2022. A Delta Chi brother, Lt. Col. Steinkamp interrupted his education to join the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot in Vietnam. Jay Wechsler ’56, Chalfont, Pa., Dec. 4, 2022. Mr. Wechsler was a Sigma Alpha Mu brother. He worked as president and owner of Sugarbush Products. He was a member of the Tower Society, and his son, Samuel Wechsler, is a member of the Class of 2008. James E. Coraza ’57 M.S. ’61, Glouchester, Mass., Oct. 26, 2022. Mr. Coraza was a Phi Kappa Theta brother. He worked for IBM in executive development and senior management roles. He would later own and operate Business Analysis and Consulting Inc. He was a member of the Tower Society. Eli Eichelberger ’57, Fallbrook, Calif., Oct. 12, 2022. A Delta Phi brother, Mr. Eichelberger made his career with Caterpillar Tractor Company. Rodrigo A. Rojas ’57 ’61, San Clemente, Calif., Nov. 1, 2022. Mr. Rojas was a baseball team member and Theta Xi brother. He worked at Grumman Aircraft on the first orbiting observatory under Wernher Von Braun and then as a manager for Esso America in locations all around the world. George Rosenfeld Jr. ’57, New York, N.Y., Nov. 12, 2022. Mr. Rosenfeld was a stockbroker for almost 30 years, working primarily on the floor of the American Stock Exchange, before his second career as a teacher. He was chairman of the board of Odyssey House, a treatment center for seniors and women with young children. Henry R. Traubitz ’57, Silver Spring, Md., July 19, 2022. Mr. Traubitz worked for the U.S. Department of Labor. His son, Thomas Henry Traubitz ’85, is a member of the Lehigh family. Brooks C. Goldman ’58, Bethany Beach, Del., Oct. 27, 2022. Mr. Goldman was president of Delta Upsilon and a member of the soccer team. He spent nearly 40 years with the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring as deputy associate administrator for aviation standards. As an alumnus, he was very active, volunteering with the Alumni Association Board of Directors, his class and fundraising phonathons. To honor his decades of service, he received the Joseph R. Persa ’48 Award in 1998, the Robert A. Harrier Award in 2004 and the Alumni Award in 2013. His children, Robert Goldman ’86 and Jeffrey Goldman ’89, are members of the Lehigh family. James S. Larsen ’58, San Antonio, Texas, Sept. 11, 2022. A Delta Sigma Phi brother, Mr. Larsen spent 37 years working for British Petroleum. John J. Murphey ’58, Carlsbad, Calif., Oct. 27, 2022. Mr. Murphey had a 33-year career as an intellectual property attorney, and he was a retired captain from the U.S. Air Force. Stephen T. Novatne ’58, Bethlehem, Pa., Sept. 10, 2022. Mr. Novatne was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at making corrugated cartons. Robert Seitz Jr. ’58, Jamaica Plain, Mass., Sept. 8, 2022. Mr. Seitz was a Sigma Chi brother and member of the Marching 97. He served in the U.S. Navy before joining Stone & Webster Engineering Corp., designing control systems for nuclear power plants. He left the corporate world to start his own design-build firm, Interior Woodwork. Eugene A. Zahnke ’58, Bristol, Conn., Oct. 6, 2022. Mr. Zahnke taught math at Bristol Central High School for 35 years and was head of the department and a coach for many of those years. Denis V. Brenan ’59, Berwyn, Pa., Oct. 27, 2022. Mr. Brenan was captain of the basketball team and a Sigma Nu brother. He worked as a lawyer, practicing as a partner with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius for 30 years and as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force JAG Corp. William W. Gorman Jr. ’59, Treasure Island, Fla., Aug. 17, 2022. Mr. Gorman was president of Kappa Sigma fraternity and a member of the Mustard & Cheese and Glee clubs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a professional engineer. He was chief executive of E-C Apparatus Corp. He was also a member of the Asa Packer Society. Donald C. Reed ’59, Lititz, Pa., Oct. 11, 2022. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Reed worked for General Electric and RCA in quality assurance. 1960s Richard B. Cawthorne ’60, Wharton, N.J., Dec. 14, 2022. Mr. Cawthorne was a Kappa Alpha brother and member of the swimming team. He spent 60-plus years in the banking industry. He was also a member of the Tower Society. Bruce D. Fritchman ’60 M.S. ’63 Ph.D. ’67, Springfield Township, Pa, Dec. 9, 2022. Professor Fritchman taught electrical engineering at Lehigh. He also served as chair of the department and assistant vice president of computing and communication services, responsible for planning and operational support for all university communications technology. His son, Christopher Fritchman, is a member of the Class of 1985. Walter S. Markotic ’60, Bethlehem, Pa., Dec. 22, 2022. Mr. Markotic served in the military during the Korean War and in Europe. He spent nearly 30 years with Bethlehem Steel. William B. Birdsall ’62, Chatham, N.J., Oct. 4, 2022. Mr. Birdsall was a Pi Kappa Alpha brother. He made his careers at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Price Waterhouse & Co. and the New York Life Insurance Company, retiring as vice president in the investment department. He provided leadership to the United Methodist Church at local and annual conference levels; he also served as president of the Chatham Interfaith Council and on the St. Barnabas Hospital Board of the Pastoral Chaplaincy. He was a member of the Tower Society. His brother, James B. Birdsall ’65, and son, James D. Birdsall ’01, are members of the Lehigh family. Ronald L. Harro ’62, Post Falls, Idaho, Sept. 5, 2022. Mr. Harro worked for Sperry/ UNIVAC as a systems analyst, installing and programming some of the earliest mainframe computer systems. Donald F. Kane ’62, Naples, Fla., June 6, 2021. Mr. Kane was a Chi Phi brother and member of the baseball team. He played in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league organization, served in the U.S. Army and had a long sales career within the cosmetic packaging industry, working for Union Camp, Shorewood Packaging,
