IN REMEMBRANCE | SPRING 2024 | 77 Scottsdale, Ariz., Aug. 31, 2023. Zellner was a member of the Tower Society. William R. Davis Jr. ’69, Acton, Mass., Sept. 1, 2023. A member of Tau Epsilon Phi, Davis was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory. Franklin M. Gittes ’69, New York, N.Y., Dec. 4, 2023. Gittes was a Sigma Alpha Mu member. He worked as an attorney for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP for 41 years. 1970s Dennis R. Diehl ’70, Kingston, Mass., Jan. 4, 2024. A Chi Phi member, Diehl worked in Alumni Relations for Lehigh, Drexel and Wharton. He volunteered with the university through his class, including serving as class correspondent for 24 years. He was devoted to the wrestling program, founded the National Mat News and the Lehigh University Wrestling News. For his writing, he received the highest honor there is for a wrestling writer: the Bob Dellinger Media Award, the only media award recognized by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. He was honored with the Alumni Award in 2005 and will be inducted into the EIWA Hall of Fame in 2024. He was also a member of the Asa Packer and Tower societies. His sibling, Gary Diehl ’68, and child, Geoff Diehl ’92, are members of the Lehigh family. James R. Cardell ’71, Holliston, Mass., Nov. 12, 2023. Cardell was a senior software engineer. Robert. R. Ferguson III ’71, Wilmington, N.C., Dec. 17, 2023. Ferguson was CEO and president of both Continental and Midway airlines. Jack Shebab ’71, San Marcos, Calif., Aug. 22, 2023. Shebab worked as a flight attendant and taught art on cruise ships. R. Eric Gerhart ’72, Sellersville, Pa., Sept. 9, 2023. Gerhart was a member of Chi Phi, the soccer team and The Brown and White. He worked at BKG Co., and Walter R. Dorn Estate Inc. John W. Nazemetz ’73, Hillsborough, N.J., Oct. 5, 2023. Nazemetz was a Pi Kappa Alpha member. Michael C. Boland ’74, Flying Hills, Pa., Dec. 1, 2023. Boland was a member of the golf team. He practiced law for 44 years. Sean C. Ryan ’73, Savannah, Ga., Sept. 8, 2023. A Theta Chi member, Ryan also was a member of the track and cross-country teams, and The Brown and White. He worked for IBM. His child, Christopher Ryan, is a member of the Class of 2015. Scott E. Workinger ’74, Santa Cruz, Calif., Aug. 20, 2023. A Theta Chi member, Workinger worked in the field of systems engineering his entire career and was the founder of Teambridge, senior associate of HonourCode, and CEO and founder of Workinger Consulting. Robert B. Del Guerico ’75, North Caldwell, N.J., Oct. 11, 2023. An Alpha Tau Omega and soccer team member, Del Guerico worked as a financial advisor and home builder. His child, Alyson Del Guerico ’10, and sibling, David Del Guerico ’80, are members of the Lehigh family. Richard Lucard ’75, East Norriton, Pa., Oct. 28, 2023. Robert S. Pollack ’75, Wyomissing, Pa., Aug. 22, 2023. Pollack was a Pi Kappa Alpha member, and a member of the ski and tennis teams. He was the president of S. Pollack, Inc for over 40 years, a family-owned fur business. He also served as a tennis coach for the University of Delaware and USPTR. William C. Roman ’76, Cranberry Township, Pa., Aug. 16, 2023. Roman was a Sigma Chi member, and member of the football and track teams. Michael G. Thomas ’76, Longport, N.J., Sept. 15, 2023. A football team and Delta Tau Delta member, Thomas made his career with the family business, the Thomas Company. His children, Michael Tomas ’07 and Elizabeth Thomas ’11, are members of the Lehigh family. Glenn R. Ferguson ’77, Canandaigua, N.Y., Nov. 23, 2023. A Sigma Chi member, Ferguson retired as an attorney from Thomson Reuters. Raymond J. Robb ’77, McKeesport, Pa., Dec. 16, 2023. Robb was a member of Sigma Nu. Canning C. Kraft Jr. ’79, Alexandria, Va., Nov. 4, 2023. A Sigma Nu member, Kraft was a retired lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army. He also worked as a defense contractor and business owner. He was a member of the Tower Society. Robert M. Quinn ’79, Quincy, Mass., Aug. 3, 2023. A Sigma Chi member, he worked as a credit manager for Simplex Grinnell/TYCO for more than 20 years before joining Best Buy as a sales associate prior to his retirement. 1980s Robert D. Moffitt Jr. ’81, Washington, D.C., July 14, 2023. Moffitt was an enterprise architect and information technologist. Peter Dixon ’82, Dover, N.H., Oct. 25, 2023. A Kappa Alpha member, Dixon served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in IT and retired from Amadeus Hospitality. James E. O’Donnell ’82, Seattle, Wash., Aug. 18, 2023. O’Donnell was a practicing attorney. Stephen A. Bacich ’83, Landing, N.J., Dec. 4, 2023. Bacich worked as a computer programmer at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and also was vice president at Brown Brothers Harriman for 25 years. Michael G. Annett ’86, Cross Lake, N.Y., Sept. 13, 2023. A Kappa Sigma member, Annett was a mechanical engineer working in nuclear power most of his career, most recently with the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant. Elizabeth M. Senner ’87, Tokyo, Japan, Sept. 9, 2023. Senner worked for McGraw-Hill Corp. and Dunn & Bradstreet. Sandra (Dennis) Van Lieu ’88, Verona, N.J., Oct. 26, 2023. Van Lieu worked for Annin Flagmakers in HR, production planning, purchasing, and as vice president of sales. She was the president of the Flag Manufacturers Association of America. Her parent, John Dennis, is a member of the Class of 1958. 1990s Stephen K. Hydro ’93, Holland, Pa., Aug. 15, 2023. A Delta Upsilon member, Hydro worked for Gannett Flemming as an engineer. His sibling, Thomas Hydro ’90, and spouse, Susan (Berkowitz) Hydro ’93, belong to the Lehigh family. Susan (Berkowitz) Hydro ’93, Holland, Pa., Sept. 1, 2019. Hydro was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She worked for The College of New Jersey. Her spouse, Stephen Hydro, was a member of the Class of 1993. Emre Ozgu ’94, Brooklyn, N.Y., March 22, 2023. Ozgu was a Phi Delta Theta member. He worked as a partner in the Barst Firm where he practiced immigration law for 25 years. His parent, Mustafa Ozgu ’71G, and sibling, Murat Ozgu ’91 ’17G, are members of the Lehigh family. 2010s Katie E. Zabronsky ’15 M.A. ’16, Brooklyn, N.Y., Nov. 18, 2023. Zabronsky was an Alpha Chi Omega and Brown and White member. She worked as a social worker at Sanctuaries for Families. Her sibling, Rachel Zabronsky, is a member of the Class of 2013.
