Alumni Bulletin Spring 24

CLASS NOTES | SPRING 2024 | 65 Alexis still keeps in touch with classmates Jenn Long, Leigh (Newman) Todd, Jenn Lang Chalfant, Theresa (Doyle) Yerger and Colleen Makosky Broome. Erin O’Brien said what all of us have been thinking about since social media and cellphones came about. “As my oldest daughter heads to college, it’s hard not to think about the Lehigh days. A few things come to mind: I am really glad there were no smartphones or social media sites when we were in college. I hope she makes as good lifelong friends as many of us did at Lehigh, and I hope she laughs even half as much.” No way to say it better! I will see a number of my fraternity brothers at a party hosted by Evan Stein ’93 in NYC and can attest to the fact that most of my fraternity would have criminal records if cellphones existed back then. I still have a criminal record … but that’s a long story! ’95 bmo3@lehigh.edu It was great to hear from both Jen (Levine) Drechsler and Ryan Hydro! Jen shared that she, Teresa (Araco) Rodgers, Alison (Rosbruch) Rosenthal, Patty (Hoffman) Brahe, John Gardner and Joele (Raden) Levenson and Andrew Levinson were all at Lehigh-Lafayette for awesome tailgates. Many in the group brought their high school students, who are starting to look at schools, and they were very impressed with the Big 10 spirit of a school Lehigh’s size. Jen thinks their kids thought all of the stories they heard about our years at Lehigh were hyperbolic! Jen and her husband live in Maplewood, N.J., with their 17-year-old twins, who are high school juniors. She recently retired after 20-plus years leading global consumer research agencies. Ryan shared the exciting news that he has a song cut on major label Capitol Records Nashville with artist Jon Pardi on the artist’s “Merry Christmas from Jon Pardi” project. Ryan’s co-written song is “Merry Christmas from The Keys” and was recently performed at the Grand Ole Opry and was to be performed in NYC on Broadway at the Beacon Theatre in December! “Merry Christmas from The Keys” is on all streaming platforms and even on old-school vinyl. Some other songs of his over the years have been used in major TV shows and series on ABC, Fox and Netflix: “Big Sky,” “Monarch,” “Nashville” and “Unbelievable.” Ryan was also at the Lehigh-Lafayette game and had a great time, but he hopes that #160 goes to Lehigh! ’96 Jen (Crimmins) Keen, 17 Windsor Drive, Foxborough, MA 02035. (508) 543-5036; jen@keensense.com Hi, Class of ’96! So many people reached out after the email blast that I have enough information for a few Bulletins! So, without further ado … Jason Krasno reports: “I have lived in Philadelphia for the past 24 years with my son, Ben, who is a junior in high school, and partner, Erin, who is a director for Unite for Her. In addition to running the law firm of Krasno, Krasno and Onwudinjo, I recently started a foundation called Tequila That Cares Foundation. The foundation focuses on enhancing computer labs in low-income areas around Jalisco, Mexico, as well as supporting educational and health-related causes in the United States. It is just getting off the ground, but we already have our first school computer project in the works. The foundation works with people affiliated with the tequila industry. Marty McGuire sent an update: “I’m currently vice president, director of marketing for Mauch Chunk Trust Company in Jim Thorpe, Pa., and really enjoying working in community banking. In my spare time, I have fun as a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador volunteer, conducting free outreach events at libraries and schools in the Lehigh Valley on all kinds of exciting space topics. Todd Treonze reported: “I’m in my sixth year as the chief information officer for Brooks Brothers and, over the past 18 months via acquisition, Reebok as well. I split my time between our Connecticut and Boston offices for the brands. I have also recently joined the Lehigh MBA Advisory Council and look forward to getting back to Lehigh more often in this role to help shape the future of Lehigh’s MBA program. My daughter, Taylor ’25, is halfway through her Lehigh undergrad degree and loving every minute on campus. Our younger son, Mitchell, just graduated from high school and is off to Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall. As my wife, Laura, and I are about to become empty nesters, we recently sold our Fairfield, Conn., home and moved to our other home in Newport, R.I., full time. We had a chance to catch up with Rob Campanile and Andrea (Roth) Campanile the weekend we moved in! If anyone else visits Newport in the future, certainly reach out!
