Simon ’86, are members of the Lehigh family. Mr. Simon was a member of the Asa Packer and Tower societies and the founder of the Simon Family Scholarship Fund. William H. Haag Jr. ’58, Placida, Fla., March 18, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Haag retired as president and COO of The Linderme Tube Company. Robert J. Ostar ’58, New Bern, N.C., Dec. 16, 2022. A Phi Theta Kappa brother, Mr. Ostar served in the New Jersey Air National Guard following graduation. He worked for Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Standard and the Corporate Office of United Technologies as manager of accounting operations. Willard J. Remphrey Jr. ’58, Doylestown, Pa., Sept. 2, 2022. Mr. Remphrey was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserves. He worked as a chemical engineer for Philco and eventually retired as financial controller for Data Card Corp. H. Robert Elliott ’59, Venice, Fla., Jan. 16, 2023. Mr. Elliott was a Delta Tau Delta brother and served as an artillery officer in the U.S. Army. He worked in advertising before joining Westinghouse as head of corporate public relations. He subsequently opened his consultancy, Elliott Associates, specializing in executive speech and presentation training. His sibling, John Elliott ’57, is a member of the Lehigh family. Neil O. Reichard ’59, Greenwood, S.C., Jan. 20, 2023. A member of the track team, Mr. Reichard worked for the family business and, after it was acquired, was the operations manager for Lebanon Seaboard Corporation’s agricultural division. Peter Weisberg ’59, Chapel Hill, N.C., Jan. 16, 2023. Mr. Weisberg was a Sigma Phi brother. He had a 40-year career in international system software and hardware sales and litigation. 1960s Michael E. Autera ’60, Naples, Fla., April 18, 2023. A Delta Tau Delta brother, Mr. Autera retired from Bristol Myers, serving as controller and CFO and finishing his career as executive vice president. He was instrumental in the merge with Squibb. John P. Croneberger ’60, Reading, Pa., Feb. 23, 2023. Rev. Croneberger was the bishop of the Diocese of Newark from 2000 to 2007. Donald M. Hayas ’60, North Olmsted, Ohio, Feb. 10, 2023. Pastor Hayas served congregations in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada. Lee D. Hines ’60, Townshend, Vt., Dec. 31, 2022. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Hines worked as an advertising executive with BBDO followed by Ted Bates Worldwide for more than 30 years. David M. Horn ’60, Roslyn, N.Y., Feb. 28, 2023. Paul H. Kiselik ’60, Livingston, N.J., Nov. 7, 2022. Mr. Kiselik was a Pi Lamdba Phi brother and member of Tau Beta Pi. He served in the U.S. Army. His career culminated as president and CEO of Sebro Packaging Corporation. He was also an early partner and investor in Boxes.com. His child, Daniel Kiselik, is a member of the Class of 1984. William R. Martin ’60, Weems, Va., Feb. 25, 2023. Mr. Weems started as a mechanical engineer for Pennsylvania Railroad and retired as assistant vice president of finance for Norfolk Southern. Edward H. Chambers ’61, Devon, Pa., March 3, 2023. Mr. Chambers served as CFO for several companies, retiring as senior vice president and CFO of Wawa. George M. Dolan ’61, Wilmington, N.C., March 29, 2023. Mr. Dolan was in the Gryphon Society and worked on WLRN radio. He worked for IBM for over 42 years, first on mainframes, later on security software (encryption) and hardware and finally as an engineering and sales liaison. He was also a member of the Tower Society. John E. Dyke ’61, Atlanta, Ga., July 30, 2022. A lacrosse player and Phi Gamma Delta brother, Mr. Dyke started Endicott Construction, served as president of the Richmond Homebuilders Association and, in retirement, became a home inspector. Douglas Y. Edwards ’61, Fort Meyers, Fla., Feb. 15, 2023. Mr. Edwards was a Phi Gamma Delta brother and a member of the football, wrestling and lacrosse teams. He worked as a manager of manufacturing for Lukens Steel Company and vice president of Haynes International and was a CPA at Solomon and Hoover. Robert W. Giess ’61, Sacramento, Calif., Feb. 14, 2023. Mr. Giess worked for CalTrans for 40 years as an engineer/engineering manager. He was also a member of the National Guard. He was a member of the Asa Packer and Tower societies. Peter N. Miller ’61, Fort Collins, Colo., March 21, 2023. Mr. Miller was a U.S. Air Force veteran. John H. Minsker Jr. ’61, Newark, Ohio, March 25, 2023. Mr. Minsker was a Delta Upsilon brother and Tau Beta Pi member. He worked for Dow Chemical Company. Robert J. Paternoster ’61, Long Beach, Calif., March 23, 2023. Mr. Paternoster was a retired director of city planning for Sunnyvale, Calif. He was a dedicated alumnus, volunteering for his class for over 60 years, including writing the class column since graduation. For his decades of exemplary service, Lehigh was honored to recognize him with the Alumni Award at the 2022 reunion. His father, Joseph Paternoster, was a member of the Class of 1934. Robert A. Peoples ’61, Wilmington, Del., June 21, 2022. A Delta Tau Delta brother, Mr. Peoples spent his entire career with the family business, Candy C. Mammele Inc., a paint and coatings distributor. He retired as president. Harold E. Watkins ’61, Langhorne, Pa., March 24, 2023. Mr. Watkins was a Chi Psi brother. He worked in the telecommunications industry. Frederick G. Westerman ’61, Bonita Springs, Fla., Feb. 20, 2023. Mr. Westerman was a Lambda Chi Alpha brother. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as CFO for Shaw Development. His brother, Robert Westerman, is a member of the Class of 1968. James L. Williams ’61, New Freedom, Pa., March 29, 2023. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an insurance adjuster. Richard B. Winter ’61, South Williamsport, Pa., Jan. 17, 2023. Mr. Winter was an accountant and pianist. Charles J. Fonzone ’62 M.A. ’68, South Whitehall, Pa., Feb. 13, 2023. Mr. Fonzone played football and baseball. He was also a brother of Sigma Nu. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam before becoming a lawyer. He served as solicitor to numerous Lehigh Valley municipalities and the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority. John B. Holt ’62, Bluffton, S.C., March 7, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Holt owned Guardsman Wood Pro. John W. Lappin ’62, Las Vegas, Nev., Feb. 26, 2023. Mr. Lappin was a CPA and owned his own practice. Gary R. Morgan ’62 MBA ’70, Lower Saucon Township, Pa., Feb. 27, 2023. Mr. Morgan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the federal government as a bank examiner, as well as several corporate banks. Bruce A. Bott ’63 M.S. ’66, Flanders, N.J., Feb. 2, 2023.
