Favorite Lehigh tradition The Lehigh-Lafayette Rivalry! It is truly so special to see the decades of alumni rally together for one goal: to BEAT LAF! Hometown: Stockton, NJ College: College of Business Major: Finance and Marketing Why did you choose Lehigh? I chose Lehigh for its outstanding balance of high-end athletics and cutting-edge education. I felt the camaraderie and “Lehigh Love” the minute I stepped foot on campus. I love that; at Lehigh, I am encouraged to pursue my interests in and out of the classroom while having immense support from faculty, coaches, and teammates. What is your favorite class or subject? I am currently a sophomore in the College of Business. I love that Lehigh encourages diverse learning opportunities for its students, regardless of their degree pursuits. Last semester I took Introduction to Acting. This course allowed me to explore a new side of myself. I learned to take life less seriously and to try new things with confidence and assurance, despite how silly they may seem. Additionally, I took English 1 with Dr. Charles French, whose class was truly transformative and changed my outlook on my time at Lehigh and beyond. Interests outside of classroom: I am a member of Lehigh’s women’s swim team. Being a member of this team has allowed me to push myself outside the classroom while being surrounded by an amazing support system. A message from Monica: Thank you is an understatement. My family has been through a lot financially over the years, and all my parents have ever wanted for my sister and me is to be able to have a college education and to continue our love for swimming at the collegiate level. Your support has helped me achieve my dreams and make my parents proud. This university, the swim team, and all of the opportunities Lehigh has given me have meant the world to me and will benefit me now and for the rest of my time here at Lehigh and beyond.
