Stabler Report 2023

Favorite Lehigh tradition The Rally. It was truly amazing to see how many alumni came back to Lehigh to celebrate the incoming class. Hometown: Higganum, CT College: P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science Major: Mechanical Engineering Why did you choose Lehigh? From my first glance at the campus, Lehigh excited me. As much as I wanted to choose the school based on its pure beauty, I knew I could not do that, so I was hesitant to dive deeper into the school. I thought I would learn something that would prevent me from going there. However, I never did. Whether it was the amazing engineering program, the sense of community on campus, the extensive research, or the amazing things almost everyone I talked to said about the school, every aspect of Lehigh made it seem like the obvious choice to me. What is your favorite class or subject? The courses that most excite me are those that I can use in my everyday life and the ones where I can expand my learning outside class in clubs or even just on my own time. For instance, the past year I took engineering. In these classes, I learned both coding and CAD modeling. Outside the classroom, I found myself expanding my knowledge of CAD by using it to design prosthetics for the LU Enable club and by also testing my coding skills by creating games. Interests outside the classroom: I have a passion for music. In my free time, I love to mess around on the guitar, bass, drums, and occasionally saxophone. I find that music brings me a type of happiness that I cannot get in the classroom, as it allows me to get lost in the notes and forget about everything around me for a while. It also gives me the freedom to express myself in new ways, creating new sounds and melodies that reflect my feelings. A message from Ethan: I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation that has allowed me to be where I am today. When looking at Lehigh, I was in love with the school; however, I was extremely worried about the price. I ended up having to come to the conclusion that if I did not receive a certain amount of aid, I could not go to Lehigh, which was a painful reality. However, thanks to you, I was able to attend Lehigh, and I am now chasing my dreams at a school I love. ETHAN CHESTER
