N O T E S After 20 years away fromcampus, he traveled back to the Lehigh-Lafayette football game this year and had a tailgatewith a large gaggle of Fiji brothers. Jim McCormick and a large group of his Delta Tau Delta brothers gathered for their Annual Big Bob reunion this past October at the Holy Cross football game. Classmates included Lou Pierro, Mike Giduck and Rich Andres, along with 16 other brothers froma variety of classes. Needless to say, the Silver Goblet was hoisted often in laughter and friendship. Wynn Willard was solicited by Lehigh to attend a lecture series presenting Brian Stelter as one of “today’s leading voices in population health” and the speaker for “The Importance of Public Trust in the Press.” He also reports Lehigh hosts a new Movies That Matter Club, offering hima “new format for unlearning and taking steps toward allyship.” He asks, “Remember back in August 1976 when Lehigh excited you with their plans for your unlearning?” A large groupof alumni participated in the recent Jim Mahlbacher ScholarshipFund Tailgate. Attendees included classmates Eric Yaszemski and John Veech. Jimwas killed inan autoaccident inDecember 1983. Jimwas a great friend, fraternity brother and teammatewhowas admiredby everyonewhoknew him.He servedas president of DeltaUpsilonandwas amember of theNational Championship football team. Ascholarship fund was created inhisname in 1984. Today, the scholarshipholdsnearly$400,000 inassets andprovides up to two scholarships per year. I wish the best to all my classmates. ’8-O! GO! Allen is widowedwith two children: sonEvan is a CFPwith a financial firm inNYC; daughter Cailee is a junior at Rutgers studying nutrition. Allen stays busy playing golf and softball on Sundaymornings with his son. Joe Scheuer keeps house withDeneenHelminDelaware County (Pa.). As a PMP, he leads e-discovery for a federal agency fromhis home office. Dan Fullmer lives inDowningtown, Pa., withhiswife, Ann. Danmanages an industrial supply company he has owned for 36 years. He has two grown sons. Other ’81 classmates include Dianne (Stix) Jordan and husband Ed Jordan ’82, Rich Titus with spouse Lisa Dippre Titus ’82, Charlie Marck with wife Sue (Schlicht) Marck ’82, and Wayne Verost. During a recent trip toTexas, we had the opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of Rodger Hutley and Jan (Kamon) Hutley. In the past year, they sold their home in the suburbs, Jan retired, and theymoved to the uptown area of Dallas, Texas. Bothenjoyed secondcareers as teachers, but theydecided longer vacations are needed, soRodgerwill be retiring at the endof the school year. The newDallas digs arewithinwalking distanceof stores and restaurants, near all the attractions andare easily shut downwhen theyhead to theAdirondacks in the summer. Their two sons and families live locally, providing four grandkids to take to theDallas parks and museums.Whether inDallas or OldForge, they love visits from friends and family. TheirNew York hospitality has been enjoyed bybrothers ofDeltaUpsilonand sisters ofMontclairMansion. Theyplan todo somenomadic wanderingon their trips between Texas andNewYork, so I’mpretty surewe’ll see themat the tailgate. Our introduction to the Atlanta LehighAlumni Clubwas a celebration indeed.We gathered towatch the 157thmeeting of Lehigh andLafayette on the gridiron. Our young teamwill carry a three-gamewinning streak into the 2022 season. Lo and behold, fellowIEand classmate Greg Beck was leading the Asa Packer cheer. OK, he wasn’t. Greg is operations manager for Zerorez. He and his family have called Georgia home since ’05. We have a lot of great things coming up—our 41st Reunion is June 9-12, 2022.We’ll be celebratingwith theClasses of ’80 and ’82, which should add to the fun! David Kynor has transitioned fromhis engineering firm to teaching at Dartmouth in its engineering school. I had the opportunity to get together with Todd Stires of Zeta Psi for a round of golf here in Bedminster on a very warm day onNovember 18. Todd lived across fromme as I was a brother at Pi Lambda Phi. Zetes always had disco parties and attracted all the women who loved to dance. On the other hand, my house, Pi Lam, sported a beer pong table in themiddle of the party roomand blasted Grateful Dead, Jerry JeffWalker, Marshall Tucker Band and the like genre of music assured to repel fromour environs all but the bravest and hardiest of women. Todd’s son, Hunter, graduated fromColumbia University and, according to LinkedIn, is at the Naval War College and in other positions such as the Navy Warfare Group that are beyond my pay grade to describe, and of which one does not speak.
