Resources as Bridge/Entry Participants valued arts, festivals, and community events as important spaces for connection. Low-barrier opportunities, including university programming, public art, and free cultural institutions, can create entry points for newcomers, while culturally specific festivals and organizations help residents maintain connection to their identities and build civic participation. Engagement and Access Participants raised concerns about awareness of and access to community resources. In many small cities, information about events and opportunities circulates through established networks that newcomers may not have access to, reinforcing the role of insider relationships in shaping participation and belonging.
