52 Distillation Guidebook Co-Lab • 9.18–9.19 2025 The images featured here span a period of over a decade, showcasing housing typologies found across cities in Angola, Brazil, and the US. This collage focuses on building façades, insofar as they behave as moments where the public is offered glimpses into daily life shaped by neighborhoods. Many of the unique façades represented here also depict decay and a natural degradation of materials over time. This highlights the fact that not only were these buildings once designed, built, and inhabited by various people, over time they, too, will collapse or be transformed to better serve future needs.
