2021 Stabler Donor Impact Report R4

STABLER SCHOLAR ALUMNUS Name: Sean Hoenig ’14 ’20G Degree: BS and MS, Chemical Engineering Title: Research and Development Engineer III Company: Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. City: Lancaster, PA Who inspired you or supported you at Lehigh? I had several professors in the chemical engineering department or a related department I would turn to for academic and career advice. Some professors I am especially grateful for are Dr. Tuzla, Dr. Schray, Dr. Wachs, and Dr. Silebi. How did Lehigh prepare you for your professional career and/or goals upon graduation? The Lehigh education is thorough. In the engineering discipline, we learn the fundamentals and how to apply them to a wide range of problems. The environment helped me learn how to be curious, explore research, and discover what I am good at. What advice would you give to current or future Stabler students? I would tell students to seriously ask questions and be curious. The more you question, the more you learn. I remember being hesitant at times to raise a hand or start a conversation. What are some career or personal milestones you look forward to in the future? I have the opportunity to conduct my own independent research programs through government- sponsored agencies. I’ve been working towards this goal since I started my career! What motivates you to give back to Lehigh? I’m grateful for receiving this scholarship, as I was able to realize my potential as an engineering student, person, and professional engineer while at Lehigh. I’m proud to continue that legacy for current and future Lehigh students.
