ENGINEERING Name: Cayla Brint Hometown: Merion Station, PA Major: Chemical Engineering Class: 2023 Favorite activity: Ski Team Favorite faculty or staff: Professor Manoj Chaudry, Chemical Engineering Dream job: Alternative Energy Engineering I always thrive when I push myself. I have found that putting myself into challenging situations forces me to think creatively. It forces me to create habits and adapt so that I can succeed. As a result of this, I have always been a problem solver and a resourceful thinker. From a young age, I have loved puzzles, brainteasers, or really anything that made me think differently. With this, I want to find problems in the world that I can try to solve. I believe that pushing myself to solve some of the world’s largest challenges, while interlacing my passions with those chal- lenges, will lead me to make a substantial, positive impact. This semester, I had the pleasure of joining the Global Entre- preneurship Fellowship program through the Creative Inquiry Institute at Mountaintop. I am a member of the PlasTech team, in which we are working daily to create a multifaceted business to distribute in the Philippines. This project focuses on taking re- cycled plastics and turning them into usable, daily products. Our current focus is making bricks for building, and I have personally been working on testing variables in the lab every week. This project has already taught me so much, and I look forward to where it will take me and the impact I will make. Giving back means a variety of things to me. In its essence, the idea of giving back is providing a form of thanks to something or someone that had a positive impact on your life. For exam- ple, giving back to my parents means something as simple as making a meal for them without being prompted. Giving back to a community can mean doing your part to keep it clean and safe, but it also can mean donating or contributing on a more tangible scale. Anyone who feels a moral obliga- tion to repay a community or person in some way and has the time to do so can take action to give back. Thank you for supporting me through the Stabler Scholarship.
