I have always been a transparent person, prone to TMI and TMS (too much silliness), and when I’m in a low mood it’s easier to let it out unfiltered than to put on a face I think people want to see. So I will. What does any of this have to do with restoring and reimagining our relationships to rivers and coasts? For me, the answer lies in waterfronts as places to simply be. Third spaces, outside of home or office, where you can get away from whatever is overwhelming you. Places to be in touch with nature, and in humanity with others. What I envision are minimally touched river and coastal fronts, with little or no imprint of human intervention. Places of respite from the over-built environment and the daily go-go-go of modern life.
