Fred Canova ’54 M.S. ’68, Burlington, N.C., July 5, 2022. Mr. Canova was a member of Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi honor societies. He was a vice president at Dresser Rand, SteamTurbines for many years. Vincent S. Dymek ’54, Clifton, N.J., Aug. 12, 2022. Mr. Dymek was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves. He worked as an electrical engineer at Public Service Electric & Gas on the high-voltage transmission lines and substations. Martin S. Edelman ’54, Longboat Key, Fla., May 15, 2022. A Pi Lambda Phi brother, Mr. Edelman was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Imperial Container Corp., a corrugated boxmanufacturer. Hugh D. McKay Jr. ’54, Fort Worth, Texas, May 2, 2022. A Kappa Sigma brother, Major McKay served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, including during the VietnamWar. After his service in the Air Force, he completed a 20-year civilian career at Transport Life Insurance Company. Thomas G. Ralph ’54, Windsor, Conn., May 9, 2022. A veteran of the U.S. Army during the KoreanWar, Mr. Ralph was also a Sigma Phi Epsilon brother. He led the Ralph Insurance Agency for over 50 years. His father, Thomas Ralph, was a member of the Class of 1917. Edward H. Small Jr. ’54, Alden, N.Y., May 14, 2022. Mr. Small served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a civil engineer and retired as the director for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Committee. Joseph F. Thom ’54, Allentown, Pa., July 5, 2022. Mr. Thomwas a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a news editor for The Morning Call for most of his career. Richard S. White ’54, Peterborough, N.H., May 13, 2022. Mr. White served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean Confict. Mr. White retired from AT&T after 36 years. M. Barry Bochner ’55, West Caldwell, N.J., July 18, 2022. Dr. Bochner was a veteran of the U.S. Amy Laboratory. His career in research and development focused on the dyestufs industry, during which he patented several processes. Alan I. Brooks ’55, Aiken, S.C., Aug. 3, 2022. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Brooks worked as a system analyst for Sperry Univac for 28 years and later worked for Burroughs Corporation before retiring fromUnisys. David H. Fenton ’55, Kalamazoo, Mich., Aug. 16, 2022. Mr. Fenton was a brother of Phi Delta Theta and served as president. He served in the U.S. Navy before a varied career in manufacturing engineering. He consulted with Forensic Fluids Laboratories in his 80s. David E. Flatow ’55, LongBoat Key, Fla., March 15, 2022. Mr. Flatow was a Pi Lambda Phi brother. He served in the U.S. Army and founded New York Surety Company and DEF Brokerage Company. Samuel Furiness Jr. ’55, Cary, N.C., Aug. 3, 2022. Mr. Furiness was a captain of the baseball team and president of Chi Phi. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. After service, he ran a small manufacturing business for 43 years. His son, Daniel Furiness, is a member of the Class of 1988. Gordon J. Goldberg ’55 Ph.D. ’70, Bethlehem, Pa., May 3, 2022. A Pi Lambda Phi brother, Dr. Goldberg taught for 35 years at Kutztown University. He served as the chair of his department, chair of faculty senate and as founder and frst director of the University Wide Honors Program. Buell A. Miller ’55, Cumberland, Maine, Aug. 20, 2022. An Alpha Tau Omega brother, Dr. Miller was the founder of Coastal Women’s Healthcare in Maine. He worked in obstetrics, specializing in infertility, delivering thousands of babies before retiring. Martin D. Misenhimer ’55, Allentown, Pa., Aug. 5, 2022. Dr. Misenhimer served in the U.S. Navy during the KoreanWar. He co-founded Family Pediatrics. Charles E. Schubert ’55, Baldwinsville, N.Y., Aug. 1, 2022. An Alpha Tau Omega brother, Mr. Schubert spent 33 years working for Carrier Corp. In his retirement, he was a piano tuner technician. Harry C. Strauch ’55, Richmond, Calif., Feb. 6, 2022. Mr. Strauch was a Phi Gamma Delta brother and a member of the lacrosse team. He worked in several engineering and managerial roles, before studying naval architecture. He retired as the harbormaster of South Beach Harbor. His Lehigh legacy includes his father, Charles Strauch ’22, his brother, Charles Strauch ’57, sonMark Strauch ’92 and several nephews. Kenneth J. Verostick Sr. ’55, Montclair, N.J., July 15, 2022. Mr. Verostick was a Sigma Phi brother, a member of the Mustard & Cheese and head cheerleader. Fluent in German, he studied Hungarian at the Defense Language Institute and served with the Army Security Agency in Frankfurt, Germany. After his honorable discharge, he joined AT&T in human resources and, 28 years later, he retired as director, External Executive Education Programs. In 1987, he founded the Philadelphia Institute for Management Studies. He was also a proud and active alumnus volunteer, serving as class agent for more than 25 years, in addition to serving as class president and participating on multiple reunion committees. He was recognized with the university’s Alumni Award in 1995. His sons, Alan Verostick ’95 and Kenneth J. Verostick Jr. ’98, and daughter-in-law, Nicole (Gaddis) Verostick ’98, are all members of the Lehigh family. John R. Apmann ’56, East Moriches, N.Y., June 29, 2022. Mr. Apmann was a member of the swim team and was a Kappa Alpha brother. He retired from SpectroLume LLC as a manufacturer’s representative in the commercial lighting markets. His son, Scott Apmann ’88, is a member of the Lehigh family. Charles R. Kuebler ’56, Hamburg, N.Y., May 19, 2022. Mr. Kuebler was a Delta Sigma Phi brother and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as an industrial engineer for Bethlehem Steel and then Blue Cross Blue Shield. George H. MacLean ’56, Summit, N.J., March 25, 2022. Mr. MacLeanwas a brother of Alpha Tau Omega and amember of the Omicron Delta Kappa honor society and the soccer team. Russell B. Mallett Jr. ’56, Basking Ridge, N.J., March 3, 2022. Mr. Mallett was a founding member and president of Delta Chi. He made his career in accounting, retiring as VP, operations controller fromTriangle Industries. He was a member of the Tower Society. His children, Russell Mallett III ’84 and John Mallett ’86, and grandchildren, Kerry Mallett ’15, Russell Mallett IV ’17 and AndrewMallett ’20, are members of the Lehigh family. Edmund B. Partridge ’56, St. Michaels, Md., April 23, 2022. Rev. Partridge served as an Episcopal priest for 60 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Confict.
