P - AGE 37 - - - - ANNUAL REPORT 2023–2024 Retirements Kathleen Dugan Kathleen Dugan, a dedicated member of Lehigh University Libraries, retired in November after 25 years of service at Linderman Library. Kathleen played a pivotal role in coordinating the public service desk, circulating materials, supporting events, and managing evening and weekend coverage at both libraries. Her commitment to providing exceptional customer service had been central to her work, ensuring patrons received the best possible support. During the 2005-2007 renovation of Linderman Library, Kathleen helped maintain access to col lections, coordinating the relocation and retrieval of books from various sites, including daily trips to Lafayette College. Over the years, she implemented several library services, including PALCI EZBorrow, Paging, Office Delivery, and Scan and Deliver. Kathleen also facilitated numerous campus events, such as Board of Trustees meetings, Pride Center events, and the memorable “Lucy’s Escape” Halloween cele bration. Her dedication to fostering community through these activities has been a highlight of her career. In 2019, Kathleen received the Louis & Helen Zirkel Library Staff Award for her outstanding service. She was an active member of the LTS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and other campus organizations, setting a high standard for volunteering and outreach. Doug Reese Doug Reese, a longtime Computing Consultant at the LTS Help Desk, retired in December after 32 years of dedicated service at Lehigh. Doug was widely recognized for his technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and as a calming presence for students, faculty, and staff. During his tenure, Doug logged over 25,000 service requests, addressing everything from classroom technology issues to desktop computer problems. Arriving at Lehigh in 1991 after working at the University of Florida, Doug witnessed and contributed to the evolution of computing at Lehigh—from the early days of Windows 95 to the mobile and cloud computing era. His versatility earned him the reputation of a “Swiss Army knife” in the IT world, proficient in tasks ranging from writing technical specs to coding HTML/CSS. Doug also provided part-time support to the Web and Mobile Services team, working on Drupal 7 website upgrades and training staff. Beyond his consulting role, Doug taught SAS program ming in the College of Business and LTS seminars on various technology topics. He played a key role in designing the award-winning Lehigh campus portal and served on several strategic committees, including the Web Implementation Task Force. Known for his quick wit, broad knowledge, and approachable demeanor, Doug left behind a lasting legacy of excellence within the Lehigh community. Donna Cressman Donna Cressman, IT License and Contract Coordinator in the LTS Administrative Services Group, retired in April. Donna was an integral part of the ASG team for 16 years and Lehigh for 22 years, contributing signifi cantly to numerous LTS projects, initiatives, and overall workplace culture. During her time supporting the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Donna was the ‘go-to’ for faculty and staff, providing thorough and detailed support for CITL projects and events. She was especially appreciated by the TRAC Fellows for whom she was always available for questions and to lend a sympathetic ear. Before joining CITL, Donna supported the Technology Infrastructure & Operations group for many years. She was a welcoming presence to students, faculty, and staff, always ready to assist with finding information, supplies, or whatever they needed. Donna also guided new LTS staff in acclimating to the building and univer sity. Along with project coordination, she contributed as a versatile team member, handling tasks such as testing services, planning events, and organizing information. Her dedication and professionalism in supporting numerous leaders in the CITL and technology groups have been invaluable to LTS.
