PAGE 23 ANNUAL REPORT 2023–2024 - - - 4 Creating & Cultivating Connections– Across Campus, Across Communities, Across Higher Education Strengthening Community, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion ▶ In January, Insight Into Diversity magazine recognized Lehigh University with the inaugural 2024 Library Excellence in Access and Diversity (LEAD) Award, a prestigious national honor, for its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. This award acknowledges the significant efforts made by Library and Technology Services to foster an inclusive environment that supports the needs of all students, faculty, and staff. The award highlights several key initiatives, including the establishment of a DI&E Committee that has played a pivotal role in developing policies and programming that promote cultural competence and social justice. The Libraries’ efforts to create spaces that reflect diverse perspectives and provide equitable access to resources were also recognized as a model for other institutions. In particular, the expansion of digital resources, the implementation of inclusive teaching practices, and the creation of partner ships with campus organizations and community groups have been instrumental in advancing DE&I goals. This award reflects LTS’ dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive space where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is prioritized. ▶ Members of LTS and our TRAC Fellows visited Washington D.C., exploring the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the National Museum of African American History & Culture, among others. Feedback highlighted the trip’s impact, enhanc ing knowledge and understanding, and sparking curiosity and new areas of interest. Staff appre ciated the opportunity to learn and connect with colleagues outside their usual work circles.
