A member of Tau Delta Phi and veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, Born came back to the family business, where he invented Peeps and Hot Tamales. He served as president of Just Born Quality Confections for 30 years. Charles Charest ’44 ’60, Drums, Pa., July 31, 2023. Charest was a member of the basketball team, The Brown and White and Delta Sigma Phi. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked in mining and then real estate. He was also a member of the Tower Society. Michael D. Savopoulos ’48 ’54 M.S. ’60, Advance, N.C., Dec. 15, 2022. Savopoulos was a Sigma Chi member. 1950s Allan B. Judson ’50, Chambersburg, Pa., July 17, 2023. Judson served in the military and as a civilian government employee. He taught history and American civilization at Wilson College. John T. Laury ’50, Atlanta, Ga., July 8, 2023. Laury worked in personnel management and retired as principal for Mercer. Justin K. McCarthy ’50, White Stone, Va., Aug. 1, 2023. McCarthy was a lawyer and a member of the Tower Society. Charles M. Dugan Jr. ’51, Allentown, Pa., July 13, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, Dugan was the second-generation owner of Dugan’s Furniture Store. Andrew Robb III ’51 ’52, Morgantown, N.C., June 24, 2023. Robb founded the Lehigh chapter of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He worked as a minister in Alabama and Colombia. He was a member of the Tower Society. Raoul H. Leuteritz ’52, Kennett Square, Pa., Feb. 2, 2023. Leuteritz was the manager of engineering for General Cable. His brother, Warren Leuteritz, is a member of the Class of 1957. Thomas E. Walker ’52, Abington, Pa., June 13, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army in Korea, Walker worked as an electrical engineer for Honeywell. Harry J. Weil ’52, Riverton, N.J., June 17, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Weil was a salesman for INCO and Le Nickel. Charles P. Hotchkiss ’53, Tucson, Ariz., May 19, 2023. Hotchkiss was a Phi Sigma Kappa member. John L. McGraw ’53, Osterville, Mass., July 4, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, McGraw worked for McGraw-Hill publishing as executive vice president and chairman of the board. Jordan P. Davis ’54, Santa Fe, N.M., May 16, 2023. A Pi Lambda Phi member, Davis worked as executive producer of “Barney Miller” and retired as vice president of Warner Brothers Television. Robert T. Kern ’54, San Jose, Calif., May 7, 2023. Kern served in the U.S. Air Force before making a 40-year career with General Electric. He was a member of the Tower Society. Martin W. Maurer ’54, Henderson Harbor, N.Y., May 27, 2023. A member of the football and track and field teams, as well as Sigma Nu, Maurer served in the U.S. Army before his 38-year career with General Electric. James B. Crabtree Jr. ’55, Pompano Beach, Fla., March 24, 2023. Crabtree was a Delta Tau Delta member. Richard C. Davis ’55, Charlotte, N.C., July 13, 2023. Davis served in the U.S. Air Force as a colonel, ultimately retiring from the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a member of the Tower Society. Charles A. Eisenfelder Jr. ’55 M.S. ’60, Glen Mills, Pa., Jan. 12, 2023. A member of Delta Upsilon and veteran of the U.S. Army, Eisenfelder worked as a leather chemist. He owned International Leathers of Philadelphia. John A. Hollingsworth Jr. ’55, Waterford, Wis., April 24, 2023. Hollingsworth was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He served in the U.S. Air Force before working for Bucyrus International Inc. and Andromeda Co. Walter J. Rowles ’55, Hyannis, Mass., May 26, 2023. A member of the Glee Club and veteran of the U.S. Army, Rowles worked for American Bridge division of U.S. Steel. His brother, Alton Rowles, was a member of the Class of 1953. William R. Brady ’56, Brielle, N.J., May 9, 2023. A Sigma Nu member and veteran of the U.S. Army, Brady made his career as a metallurgical engineer. Carlton S. Clark ’56, Seaford, Del., April 24, 2023. Clark was a member of the cross-country team and Chi Phi. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he spent 34 years with Baltimore Gas & Electric in public/government affairs. Thomas E. Jensen ’56 M.S. ’60, Bethlehem, Pa., July 28, 2023. Jensen was a Delta Sigma Phi member, as well as a member of the track and wrestling teams. He worked as a criminalist for the Pennsylvania State Police. He went on to teach criminalistics at Cedar Crest College. John C. Milnor ’56, Trinity, Fla., June 17, 2023. A Lambda Chi Alpha member, Milnor worked for the Maryland Department of the Environment. He volunteered with his local alumni club and was a member of the Tower Society. Edward H. Weber III ’56, Lexington, Ky., April 27, 2023. Weber sang with the Cliff Clefs and was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. He worked for the open-hearth department of Jones and Laughlin Steel at its Pittsburgh Works and then U.S. Steel’s Chemicals Division. Dale K. Gilmore ’57, Delaware, Ohio, June 15, 2023. A Delta Sigma Phi member, Gilmore made his 40-year career with Bethlehem Steel. Edwin Jules ’57, Louisville, Colo., July 1, 2023. Jules was a Sigma Alpha Mu member and Mustard & Cheese player. He worked as a design engineer and program manager for Westinghouse and Northrup-Grumman. John J. Milakovic ’57, Steelton, Pa., May 14, 2023. Milakovic was a member of Sigma Nu and played on the football and baseball teams. He was a controller for Capital Blue Cross for over 35 years. Dean R.
