Congratulations, all! ’13 GUEST COLUMNIST: Rosie Roessel, classnotes@ lehigh.edu Class of 2013, I can’t believe we just celebrated our 10-year reunion! It was a great weekend back on campus and we were so thankful that the air quality index improved enough to make it all happen. Some highlights of the weekend were as follows. The Parade of Classes: We wore “Lehigh Beat Duke” shirts and had the infamous song as our walk-in music. We received a bunch of compliments on our shirts, and a few members from the Class of 1968 asked how they could get one—if you are reading this, please reach out! Our class dinner: The weather was perfect for our dinner at the outdoor balcony patio down at SteelStacks. We caught a nice sunset and there was even a live concert outside! Special shout out to our server, Daniel, who brought us endless caprese-on-a-stick appetizers. The Dessert en Blanc (and Brown): We chatted for a while with Newt Wilson and Harold Milton, from our adoptive Class of 1963, and then some fellow ’13ers stayed until closing time singing Journey and eating a lot of truffles and strawberries. The Pace the Prez: I had the “pleasure” of going on a run with the president and some other reunion attendees on Sunday morning… it was straight up the mountain and back down, and President Helble is FAST! It was a doozy. It was great to catch up with classmates during the trip, some I met 10 years ago and some that weekend for the first time. Trevor Verdonik and Daria (Okhrimtchouk) Verdonik are married and never really left, as Trevor is getting his Ph.D. at Lehigh. They even renewed their vows over reunion weekend in Packer Memorial Chapel, witnessed by fellow classmate Thomas Scott. Thomas has been living in Buffalo for the past few years as a lawyer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers but will be moving down to Maryland later this summer. We adopted a bunch of plus ones into the Class of 2013 family! Nate Dumm was joined by his wife; the pair currently live in Michigan with their three kids. It was their wedding anniversary that weekend! Bo Johns-Hennessey and his husband joined the festivities from Washington, D.C. Haley Rodack brought her gorgeous fluffy dog to join us in the parade, and her husband appeared to have memorized Lehigh’s history. He would’ve been a great tour guide for us, assuming he could walk backwards up the mountain. Overall, it was a fun weekend and I hope to see more of you at our 15-year reunion! I’d also like to thank the Reunion Committee for your planning efforts. Without your help, this weekend wouldn’t have been possible: Jarred Barnes, Bea Dizon, Monique Golden, Bo Johns-Hennessey and Sarah Thomson.
