Departments in the arts create an academic environment in which the arts may be considered as individual disciplines as well as interdisciplinary forms that strengthen each another. In addition to providing strong programs for arts majors, the College of Arts and Sciences ensures that Lehigh’s entire student population has the opportunity to experience and study the arts as a key component of a well-rounded liberal arts education. Outside the formal production and performance areas lies Lehigh’s Guest Artist Series, where performances in Zoellner Arts Center link the arts, learning, and life by providing valuable information to those who are passionate about the arts, and those who may be exploring them for the first time. Students can also experience more than 17,000 works of art from diverse time periods and cultures, seven galleries, two art study centers, and an outdoor sculpture collection of more than 50 works through Lehigh University Art Galleries.
