Our program trains you to become a sophisticated researcher, capable of independently conducting studies that make important contributions to your field and/or solve applied problems. We are committed to providing a supportive, enriching research environment. Students work closely with one or multiple faculty members and gradually develop into independent researchers. We accept mainly Ph.D. students, but also offer a Master of Science for a few well-qualified students each year. Ph.D. students will traditionally obtain a master’s degree in the process of working toward their doctorate. Our review of applications has always been holistic. We carefully consider all available information in each student’s application. Students admitted to the Ph.D. program are guaranteed 5 years of financial support, which should be a sufficient amount of time to complete the degree.
