Outcomes/Careers Our broad multidisciplinary education prepares you for leadership positions in government, non-profit organizations, and for an array of careers in the private sector. Recent graduates have secured careers in health policy analysis, administration in nonprofit and public organizations, grant administration, organizational development, community organizing, state and local government leadership, lobbying, and communications. How to Apply • Please review the College application requirements and submission instructions on page 1. • To fulfill the application requirements for the political science program, please submit a total of 3 letters of recommendation. • Admission is on a rolling basis with March 1 as the priority deadline for fall semester Teaching Assistantship funding. • Students are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible to be considered for funding opportunities and in order to complete the enrollment process at least 60 days before the start of the academic semester. This is particularly important for international students who reside outside of the United States and need to allow for sufficient visa processing times. Financial Aid We are committed to helping you fund your graduate education. Over 90% of graduate students receive funding in the forms of Teaching Assistantships, Research Assistantships, Fellowships, or Scholarships. Please contact the graduate director for more specific details about funding in the political science department. DEGREES M.A. & M. P. P. Research Statement As a political science graduate student, you will have the opportunity to conduct your own independent research (as part of an independent study, master’s paper or thesis) or work with faculty members on their projects. Some recent student projects include studies of predatory lending practices in Lehigh Valley and regional Latino political activism, program reviews of the MarketTowns Initiative in the DelawareLehigh River Heritage Corridor and Community Action Committee of Lehigh Valley’s Green Futures Fund, and an evaluation of the impact of direct foreign investment on democratization in former communist-bloc nations.
