CLASS NOTES | SPRING 2023 | 67 Schur Schulhof ’98 will be celebrating their 24th wedding anniversary in March 2023. Dean writes that they have been “empty nesters” in the past year or so, with all three children in college. Their oldest, Talia, will be graduating from Northwestern University in June, and their twins will be finishing their sophomore years, respectively, at Boston and Syracuse universities. Heather Drone will be getting married on Feb. 14, 2023, to Rocco DiPiano. She is living in Summit, N.J. John Franchini recently accepted an of counsel position with the law firm McCalla Raymer, representing large banks, services and auto companies. Prior to that, John served as an executive director and the head of the Bankruptcy Legal Group at JP Morgan Chase. John is married to Ashley, who is an award-winning realtor at Sotheby’s International Realty, servicing the New Jersey shore area. They have four boys: Johnny, 15; Dante, 13; Bobby, 11; and Roman, 7. Tom Killean wrote that he spent 10 years after college living in Manhattan and working for Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. He met his wife, Alicia Sneddon, in 2007 and moved to Metuchen, N.J., in 2009. They have three children, ages 12, 10 and 8. Mason Goldberg wrote that he is currently living in Chester, N.J., where he transitioned from having fitness facilities in New York and Chicago to following his passion of being an owner/director of Meadowbrook Day Camp, a summer day camp in Long Valley, N.J. He has run into many former Lehigh alumni with children who attend his camp and joked that he “always holds firm on charging double tuition to Lafayette and Bucknell families.” He and his wife, Alissa, have three children: Carter, Cooper and Sage. They spend most of their time on weekends traveling to ice rinks around New Jersey, with their children playing hockey, while also getting their daughter to her dance recitals! Stephanie (Smith) Miller was promoted to clinical associate professor of pediatrics, Stanford University in September 2020. She is at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford satellite nursery at Sequoia Hospital, in Redwood City, and is still working as a neonatologist. She also is mother to three children, ages 13, 11 and 6. Greg Soule recently retired in September 2022 from the U.S. Army after 25 years of service. He now works in cyber program management at Booz Allen Hamilton. His wife is a physical therapist, and they have three daughters: high school freshman and junior, respectively, and a freshman at Penn State who is studying aerospace engineering. ’98 Gregory Kuklinski, gjk4@alum.lehigh. edu Our 25th reunion on June 8-11, 2023, is right around the corner. The planning committee has been working hard to organize a Friday evening social, Saturday morning parade and our Saturday evening dinner, where we give out our class award. We currently have 359 members of our class on our FB page, and I encourage each of you to extend an invitation to at least one other classmate to spread the word about our 25th reunion. Jeff Freundlich noted that he has produced a documentary called “Pistoleros: Death, Drugs and Rock N’ Roll,” which will start streaming in 2023. The film follows the stories of brothers Mark and Lawrence Zubia, who despite landing a million-dollar record deal, are repeatedly tested by alcoholism, suicide and opioid addiction. Jeff is currently the COO of Fervor Records, where they perpetuate artist legacies through licensing in film and television. Recent placements include “Causeway” (AppleTV+), “Welcome to Chippendales” (Hulu) and “Young Sheldon” (CBS). Jamie (Lieberman) Jacobs writes that, after 24 years in New York City, she and her husband, Adam, and kids moved to Boca Raton, Fla., in August 2022 and are loving the sunshine! Her daughter, Skyler, is in 11th grade, and her son, Grayden, is in kindergarten, both at North Broward Preparatory School. Jamie moved PE funds and became the chief people officer for Oak Hill Capital earlier this year. Ara Sobek and his wife, Leeann, shared that they moved their son Gideon into M&M back in August to begin his Lehigh career and are thrilled about their Lehigh legacy! Andy Rieland and Elizabeth (Piaggesi) Rieland recently celebrated 18 years of marriage. The pair is raising their four children in Easton, Pa. Elizabeth is leading the quality and manufacturing engineering team at Victoria’s Secret & Company, and Andy manages and designs innovative control systems at FLSmidth. (And no, that’s not a typo!) They love connecting with friends from Lehigh and would love to hear from you. Lisa (Rashkovich) Schwartz and her husband, Jesse, live in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., with their daughters, Gaby and Zoe. Lisa is a managing director at Accenture. The family loves to travel and got to see Jamie (Nelson) Salter and her family on a recent trip to California. They still keep in touch with a lot of friends from Lehigh … with lots of visitors coming to Saratoga. Sarah (Keafer) Burns is a pediatrician at Yardley Pediatrics in Bucks County, Pa. She is married to Wes, who is an engineering manager at PBF refinery in New Jersey. They have three kids, Avery, Clara and Mason.
