CLASS NOTES | SPRING 2023 | 65 info our way! We can’t wait to hear from you! ’93 Leslie Keating Joiner, (404) 2763280; joiner1@comcast.net Greetings, Class of 1993! I hope to see you all at the 30th reunion in June. Thanks so much for sending your updates for the Bulletin. Keep them coming! Great to hear from Jenny (Abt) Glassberg, who reports that she and her husband and three children live in Little Silver, N.J. Her eldest, Jack, is a freshman at Lehigh, but two more are (hopefully!) waiting to join him: younger brother Teddy enjoyed hanging with his brother at Parents’ Weekend, and younger sister Ellie loved hitting the bookstore and getting all the Lehigh merch. After many years working in New York City for Condé Nast, Jenny decided to pivot and open a home furnishings store in Red Bank, N.J., called nest. Check it out if you’re in the area. It looks beautiful! Jenny recently visited Lauren (Lieber) Booth in Westport, Conn. Lauren is also starting the college search for her eldest daughter, a junior in high school. They are both planning to hit up Jack Glassberg up for a tour of Lehigh. She also reports that Julie (Nestler) Shell lives close by and is enjoying her empty nest. Julie is married to Van Shell ’91. Julie and Van’s daughter Jackie is at Vanderbilt, and son Henry just started his freshman year at Vassar and plays on the lacrosse team. Jenny got to spend time with Alli (Lamendola) Moses last summer at the Jersey shore. Alli lives in Upper Saddle River near Carissa (Romantini) Abbatiello. Alli is a dentist in NYC, and Carissa is a teacher. They all got together last May for Marci (Ecker) Allen’s daughter’s bat mitzvah and were lucky to have a visit from Diane (Siclaire) Severson, who lives in Texas with her husband and three daughters. Annu Goel wrote in for the first time to report that after completing a pediatric residency at Nemours Children Hospital in Delaware, she spent many years in rural or global health care on the Navajo Reservation, and in Ethiopia and Lesotho. During that time, she had two beautiful children, who are now 19 and 14 years old. Sadly, her husband and partner in adventure passed away from a brain tumor. Since then, she has been back in Wilmington, working again with Nemours, and she is “blessed to be in a wonderful relationship.” Michael Constantinou recently joined Wells Fargo as a director in risk assessment. He got together with several Delta Phi brothers at Steven Napolitano’s backyard playground in Mahwah, N.J., in November. John Hinkle, Andrew Kaufman, Parag Patel, Lance Baraker and Rob Sackett were there for a great time at their annual get-together. Kudos to John O. “Jack” Mitchell IV, who was recently installed as the 128th president of the National Funeral Directors Association, only the second Marylander to be bestowed that honor. Jack reports that, since graduation, he has carried on his family’s business, Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home, Inc., located in Baltimore. He is the sixth generation at the firm, which dates back to 1837. Several years ago, he became involved with the Maryland Funeral Directors Association and served as its president in 2005-06. He then started getting involved with the National Funeral Directors Association. After serving on many committees, he was elected to the board of directors in 2016, later becoming secretary in 2018 and progressing to the top spot in October 2022. He jokes, “Professor Kolchin really got a kick Subscribe to the podcast today! GETTERS lehigh.edu/GOGetters Don't miss an episode! Check out all five seasons at: Are entrepreneurs born or made?
