Austen Heydon Jr. ’61, Menlo Park, Calif., Jan. 3, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Heydon made his career with IBM. Francis J. Koziol ’61, Levittown, Pa., April 11, 2024. A member of the football team, Koziol worked for Thiokol, Allstate Insurance, American Industrial, American Motor Homes, Crozier Chester Kidney Center and finally retired from Bristol Township School District as the information technology director. Arnold D. Roth ’61, Concord, Mass., Feb. 23, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Roth was a senior vice president with Jennison Associates. Charles R. Katholi ’62, Birmingham, Ala., Feb. 28, 2024. A member of Theta Xi and the Marching 97, Katholi was an emeritus professor of biostatistics at University of Alabama at Birmingham. As a statistical researcher, he authored more than 123 publications. James C. Kelly ’62, Rochester, Mich., Dec. 11, 2023. Kelly made his career as a metallurgical engineer for GE, Black and Decker and predominantly Rolled Alloys, where he retired as the director of technology. Wilson N. Krahnke ’62, Chevy Chase, Md., Feb. 28, 2024. Krahnke was a member of Delta Tau Delta and The Brown and White. He made his career as an accountant. His child, Catherine (Krahnke) Anderson, is a member of the Class of 1990. He was a member of the Asa Packer and Tower societies and supported the Wilson N. Krahnke ’62 endowed scholarship. Frederick C. Mueller ’62, Far Hills, N.J., April 15, 2024. A Sigma Phi member, Mueller dedicated 60 years to the family business, Mueller Brothers Florist. His children, Robert Mueller ’88 and Margot Mueller ’94, are members of the Lehigh family. He was also a member of the Tower Society. Charles M. Stetler ’62, Williamsburg, Va., Feb. 29, 2024. Stetler retired as an engineer from Raytheon. James H. Freeh ’63, San Diego, Calif., April 7, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he made his career in the power industry, retiring from Southern California Edison. His sibling, John Freeh, was a member of the Class of 1951. Frederick W. Kersens ’64, Barnegat, N.J., Jan. 24, 2024. William J. Bachman ’65, Charlottesville, Va., Dec. 21, 2023. An Alpha Chi Rho member, Bachman worked as a research and development engineer for 45 years, earning 10 patents and working on projects such as the Manned Orbiting Laboratory, the first-generation RCA Studio II Video Game Console and one of the first virtual reality headset systems. J. Albert Loranger ’65, Danville, Calif., April 9, 2024. Loranger served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He founded Loranger Electronics known for manufacturing techniques of burn-in and test products for semiconductor chips. His child, Ariane (Loranger) Dart, is a member of the Class of 1993. Robert E. Loudon ’65, Groveland, Fla., March 16, 2024. Loudon spent 60 years working as an engineer in the environmental field. He was employed by Envirogen over the past 30 years, where he was a senior mechanical engineer. Maynard F. Engler ’66, Nashville, Tenn., April 8, 2024. Engler worked as a chemical engineer. Harold W. Fullilove ’67, Orange, N.J., April 24, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Army in Vietnam, Fullilove worked as a judge in the N.J. Superior Court. Mark R. Ross ’67, La Quinta, Calif., March 26, 2024. Ross was a member of Pi Lambda Phi, The Brown and White, Epitome and the Mustard & Cheese Society. He was an actor and screenwriter, as well as an entrepreneur and merchant banker. John A. Wittner ’67, West Chester, Pa., Feb. 15, 2024. Wittner was a Psi Upsilon member. He practiced dentistry and was deeply involved in Moto Guzzi and the motorcycle community. William O. Keim ’68, Missouri City, Texas, April 3, 2024. A Delta Chi member, Keim was a partner with Arthur Andersen. Barry L. Surran ’68 M.Ed. 72, Blandon, Pa., Dec. 17, 2023. A member of the Glee Club, Surran taught at St. Ursula School in Fountain Hill for nine years prior to starting his sales career. For nearly 40 years, he worked as either a national sales manager or vice president of sales and marketing for consumer product manufacturers. Peter L. Burgher ’69, Winslow, Maine, Dec. 18, 2023. Burgher was a member of the Glee Club. He worked as a clinical psychologist. Stephen O. Chastain ’69, Amesbury, Mass., Feb. 22, 2024. Chastain was a medical doctor. He opened several public health clinics and ran his own practice. His sibling, William Chastain, was a member of the Class of 1971. Kenneth M. Hayes ’69, Marietta, Ga., April 19, 2024. Hayes was an Alpha Sigma Phi member and sang with the Glee Club. He was a Naval pilot during the Vietnam War and went on to work as a commercial pilot for Delta Airlines. 1970s Alan W. King ’70, Clermont, Fla., Feb. 6, 2024. King was a member of Sigma Nu, the cross-country team and Tau Beta Pi honor society. He worked for Bell Labs and its successors for 31 years. Edward H. Mockridge Jr. ’70, Hoschton, Ga., Jan. 15, 2024. A member of Delta Upsilon, Mockridge made his 44-year career in the boiler industry. James Harrison Clymer ’71, Meredith, N.H., March 25, 2024. Clymer worked for Public Service of New Hampshire as a computer programmer. Richard A. Holmes ’71, Las Vegas, Nev., Feb 17, 2024. Holmes created software and designed systems and was a computer systems architect. His parent, Walter Holmes ’41, and sibling, W. Stephen Holmes ’68, are members of the Lehigh family. Donald W. Miles ’71, Bethlehem, Pa., Feb. 14, 2024. Miles was a lawyer and activist. John Mirro ’71, Moore Township, N.J., Feb. 10, 2024. Mirro worked in the mechanical engineering field for 50 years, specializing in RotorDynamics. William R. Amaducci ’74, Boonton, N.J., Jan. 2, 2024. Amaducci was a member of the Marching 97 and concert band. He worked in his family business for many years. Walter Sokalsky Jr. ’74 MBA ’78, Mechanicsburg, Pa., Jan. 10, 2024. Sokalsky made his career with TE Connectivity. He retired as the director of executive compensation. Stephen A. Rosner ’76, Tampa, Fla., Dec. 24, 2023. Rosner had a long career in metro rail and rapid transit. He spent the last 20 years with the Ohio Emergency Management Agency. Robert S. Erbrick ’77, Jenkintown, Pa., Jan. 6, 2024. Erbrick was a member of Phi Kappa Theta. He was the president of Electroline Corp. His sibling, William Erbrick ’72, and children, Stephen Erbrick ’11 and Jill Erbrick ’12, are members of the Lehigh family. Loretta Witczak Keil ’78, Allentown, Pa., March 3, 2024. Keil was a family medicine faculty physician at St. Luke’s-Sacred Heart Hospital for the past 40 years. Her parent, Leo Witczak, was a member of the Class of 1948. William S. Labenberg ’79, Allentown, Pa., Jan. 28, 2024. Labenberg retired after a 40-year career as a bank loan officer and vice president, having worked at Meridian, Core States, First Union, National Penn and ESSA.
