68 | LEHIGH ALUMNI BULLETIN | CLASS NOTES JD is very motivated now. We are in Pennsylvania this week for a family reunion, so, of course, I need to show him the Lehigh campus!” Kemble Widmer reports: “After 12 years working in Europe and the Middle East, I retired from corporate life and settled in Crested Butte, Colo., where I spend my time primarily doing search and rescue, venture capital investing, mentoring of new entrepreneurs in our local area and the occasional mountain or river expedition. Recently, some friends and I completed a 21-day first-known descent of the Matsiatra River in Madagascar. My wife is from South Africa, where we spend a few months a year and I satisfy a growing interest in wildlife photography. I’ve had the good fortune in recent years to spend time with Jay Morin, Jason Kutz and Misha Sidorov ’97, who all live in Colorado, as well as some trash-talking with Kirk Hodgson, Mike McKee ’94 and Vin McCaffrey ’98 in our respective NFL betting leagues. Gina Iovino and Chris Moody were married in Antigua in November 2022. They reconnected six years ago at Brooklyn Bowl. In attendance from Lehigh were Jennifer (Longo) Moodie, Lauren Lascher, Amy (Glovsky) Landi, Vanessa (Bistarelli) Beckman, Angela (Cangiano) Schonberg ’97, Chelsea (Walker) Palmer, Dipa Chandra ’97, Darlene Liebman ’97, Ed Zang, Brandon Brown, Katherine Eagleton Brown ’98 and Vick Sarkaria. “Oh, what a night!” They live in New York City. Chris’ daughter will be a senior at Mississippi State and is studying to be a veterinarian, and his son will be a sophomore at Vassar College. Gina’s son will be a sophomore in high school. Chris is the VP of finance at Dayglo Ventures, and Gina is the co-founder of fine jewelry brand Anneaux Jewelry. They love their Lehigh connection! Congrats, Gina and Chris! I’ve got one more Bulletin worth of information that I received last summer. Apologies to all for the delay in getting this news out! ’97 Lopa (Patel) Zielinski, Madison, NJ, Lpzielinski@gmail.com ’98 Gregory Kuklinski, gjk4@alum.lehigh.edu Editor’s note: Not one to brag on himself, Greg Kuklinski was honored with the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers’ (PSPE) Lehigh Valley Engineer of the Year award. He was also named a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers. We are so grateful for his service to the engineering and university communities, and applaud these well-deserved recognitions. I hope that everyone is doing well, enjoyed the spring weather, got to see the eclipse and possibly got rattled by a small earthquake. On campus, scaffolding around the Clayton University Center is coming down, and we are all looking forward to its grand re-opening. Chris Hoffman has successfully raised one million euro seed funding for his start-up, Humanity Link, based in Groningen, Netherlands. Humanity Link is a cloud communications platform as a service (CPaaS) provider to nonprofits globally, enabling people in need of assistance to communicate their needs and receive the assistance that they require. Currently operational in 33 countries, its platforms support organizations such as the International Federation of the Red Cross and the Norwegian Refugee Council in countries such as Palestine, Sudan, Myanmar, Venezuela and Libya. Wishing you all the best! ’00 Corina Fisher, (732) 688-3671 (C); corina_fisher@yahoo.com ’01 Abby Dawes Columbo, abbywdawes@gmail.com Class of 2001, 27 years ago we were attending Lehigh orientation and getting ready to load up our parents’ SUVs and minivans and move in freshman year. Where are you now? Contact me—share your name, where you live now and your favorite move-in memory. I’ll start. I live in Barrington, R.I., and my favorite move-in memory was pulling into the Richards parking lot and one of the guys helping unload my mom’s car asking, “What is this thing?” as he yanked my word processor out of the trunk. ’02 Laura (Schwamb) Carino, lcarino@ att.net Greetings, Class of 2002 alumni. I hope your summer is going well! We only have one update this issue, so let’s get right to it! Lehigh grads from near and far celebrated Amy and Andy’s beautiful wedding day at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in Florida. Amy especially loved having her Alpha Gamma Delta sisters by her side throughout the wedding weekend. Her big brother, Timothy J. Shotmeyer ’00 (Student Senate president, FIJI president and namesake for the famed ʻThe Shotsʼ sandwich at the Goose) did a beautiful reading at the wedding ceremony. Amy and Andy loved all the Mountain Hawk energy brought by the Lehigh crew on the dance floor at the reception!” Big congrats to you both! In other news, we are starting to think about our 20th reunion next year. Save the date—June 5-8, 2025—
