Kantor was employed as a teacher at various school districts in the Lehigh Valley and substituted at the Bangor Elementary School. Donald R. Seidenberger M.Ed. ’62, Fountain Hill, Pa., Aug. 27, 2024. Seidenberger was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He spent his career with the Bethlehem Area School District. His grandchild, Megan Colville, is a member of the Class of 2012. Dominic Alisio MBA ’63, Nazareth, Pa., Aug. 14, 2024. Alisio served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a founder of WE Allen Credit Union, which is now First Commonwealth Credit Union. He retired from Lucent, where he served as a supervisor for the finance department, and taught at Penn State Lehigh Valley. George E. Kallenbach M.Ed. ’64, Erwinna, Pa., June 13, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Kallenbach was an educator and principal at the elementary level. W. David Lavarell M.S. ’65 Ph.D. ’69, Grand Rapids, Mich., June 27, 2024. Lavarell was a professor of mathematics at Calvin College and a minister. Fortunato J. Micale Ph.D. ’65, Niagara Falls, N.Y., May 1, 2024. Micale was a professor of chemistry at Lehigh. He held several patents and was named Inventor of the Year by NASA. His child, Linda (Micale) Howley, is a member of the Class of 1990. Kenneth L. Stott Jr. M.S. ’66 Ph.D. ’71, Bethlehem, Pa., June 22, 2024. Stott began his career with Bell Labs, before moving to Bethlehem Steel. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Lehigh University. Maurice Astorga M.S. ’67, Naples, Fla., Aug. 5, 2024. Astorga spent his career with Dupont de Nemours, Inc. Floyd C. Givier M.Ed. ’67, Forks Township, Pa., Aug. 5, 2024. Givier was a high school social studies teacher at Belvidere High School for over 35 years. He was also the motor sports editor for the Express-Times. Michael L. Ciccarelli was a teacher, principal and superintendent at the elementary school level. Jo Ann (Shafer) Jamann-Riley Ed.D. ’74, Santee, S.C., June 4, 2024. Jamann-Riley taught nursing at the college level. She retired as dean of the nursing school at Columbia University. Her spouse, John Riley ’76G, was a member of the Lehigh family. David F. Kugler M.Ed. ’76, Center Valley, Pa., Aug. 15, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, Kugler taught fifth grade for the Southern Lehigh School District. William B. Falstich worked for the Northampton Area School District as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent of school curriculum and then personnel, finishing with 35 years of service to the district. Jan M. Gebert M.Ed. ’78, Easton, Pa., June 13, 2024. Gebert taught middle and high school math. She retired as an adjunct professor of education at East Stroudsburg University. Striffler spent her entire career in education as a teacher, assistant principal and finally, principal at Old Turnpike and Sawmill Schools until her retirement. Edyth F. Glickstein was a reading consultant in school districts in New York City and Allentown for over 30 years, and the Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year in 1992. Gregory C. Loney worked as a mechanical engineer and co-founded Visby Medical, creating the first instrument-free, single-use PCR platform for infectious-disease testing. Geralyn (Wood) Barry M.S. ’87, Alexander City, Ala., July 24, 2024. Barry worked as a thermodynamics professor at Auburn University and a computer programmer at IBM.
