72 | LEHIGH ALUMNI BULLETIN | CLASS NOTES public and available for education and research. The collection includes records relating to banking, slate quarrying, coal mining, silk and textiles, steel, shipbuilding, transportation and railroads. Madi is responsible for receiving new collections as they come in, rehousing the records into archival enclosures, creating finding aids so the public can access the materials and working on the organization’s existing backlog of unprocessed records. Madi graduated with B.A.s in both English literature and anthropology and an M.S. in folklore and public culture from the University of Oregon. She recently finished a master of library and information science degree at the University of Pittsburgh before joining the IAL staff. Eliza Brush graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering. After graduation, she moved to New York City. Eliza started the core competency training program at Skanska, a twoyear rotational program where one spends four months at six different rotations, touching on the major business functions at the company: field engineer, superintendent, safety engineer, cost engineer, estimating and “wildcard.” Eliza was selected from her cohort to spend the wildcard rotation working under the Skanska East Coast chief of staff. Upon graduating from this program, she stepped into a unique role to run the financial and commercial aspects of a project with Harvard University. This project was made up of multiple contracts totaling over $50 million. Eliza lived in New York City and traveled to the job site in Boston once a month. In January of 2023, Eliza started a new job as an assistant project manager at Gregor & DeMonaco, a startup company started by a former Skanska colleague that specializes in high-end residential construction in the Hamptons. In this current position, she feels she is taking all of her education and knowledge from her prior experiences and applying it in a different space. Eliza’s favorite things that she has worked on include the first project she managed in East Hampton, developing the company’s rebrand, building a new website, and running the company social media and photography. She’s been loving the opportunity to work for a smaller company and wear so many hats while helping the partners develop and grow a business from scratch. Eliza feels honored with the trust they have in her to represent this startup and to keep pushing the company forward. Kiana Nieves graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering and a minor in Spanish. She moved to Orlando, Fla., after graduation to pursue a career opportunity at a private engineering consulting firm, Kimley Horn. Kiana recently purchased a home there. Over the five years at Kimley Horn, Kiana has worked on a variety of land development projects including a 200-acre single-family development, various multi-family developments, commercial and mixed-use developments, theme parks and industrial developments throughout the state of Florida and around the country. In September of 2023, Kiana passed the professional engineer exam and obtained her license in the states of Florida and South Carolina. She currently holds the role of project manager and leads a small team through projects from entitlement work all the way through construction document designs, permitting and construction phase services. Kiana loves that every day is different with new challenges always arising. Most of the time, the solution comes from thinking outside of the box, which keeps her on her toes and allows for continued learning. ’20 Evan Choy egc320@alum.lehigh.edu Hello, Class of 2020! This academic year brings our five-year milestone since graduating from Lehigh. As we celebrate this milestone, I hope to reconnect with more and more of you. But before we get to what’s to come, we first have to celebrate all the big news from this past summer. Love is in the air! I am happy to share that fellow former tour guide Liz Trimble is now engaged to Eric Greenwood. They currently reside in Boston and are set to move to NYC soon. In catching up with Liz, we recollected on the snow day on the Thursday of Le-Laf during our junior year. Liz studied business information systems and marketing and was involved in Greek life, club field hockey and ASA. Nowadays, Liz works as a senior management and strategy consultant at RSM. And another fellow former tour guide shares the same news! Sarah Oliver recently celebrated her engagement to Tim Urban. Sarah currently resides in the town where that other school is located while working as a development engineer at Flexicon. When Sarah isn’t working, she enjoys aerial sports. While at Lehigh, she studied mechanical engineering and was a member of both Pi Beta Phi and Leela dance group. While I have Sarah to thank for covering my tours so I could play in EcoFlame, Sarah remembers winning best costume as Bob Ross during bed races. Wishing Liz and Eric, and Sarah and Tim congratulations on the big news! It’s a great way to start our five-year anniversary celebration! For those of you starting yet another academic year, I am in there with you. Hang in and good luck! ’21 Eve Freed, evefreed1@gmail.com and Skyler McCabe, skylermccabe1@gmail.com After graduating with degrees in marketing and anthropology, Margaret Lincoln returned to her hometown in Connecticut, ready to explore a wide range of career paths. After taking time to reflect on her next steps, she enrolled at Southern Connecticut State University in the fall of 2022. This past spring, Margaret earned a master’s of library and information science, along with a school library media specialist endorsement. This fall, Margaret embarked on a teaching career at Jack Jackter Intermediate School in Colchester, Conn., where she currently works with third- through fifth-grade students. While Margaret may not be using her degrees from Lehigh in the way she initially expected, she feels that her time at Lehigh gave her the confidence to pursue her passions and explore diverse academic opportunities. We congratulate Margaret on her new position and academic achievements! ’22 Clare Fonstein, clf222@alum.lehigh.edu Hello, Class of 2022! I hope everyone had a fun summer. I am excited to share what some of our peers have been up to! To start, Nicholas Lorch, who works as a mechanical engineer for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division full-time, began moonlighting as a skydiving videographer on his weekends. His love of skydiving turned into a side hustle—videotaping people as they jump—so he could go on even more skydiving trips. Nick said he fell in love with skydiving after his first time going during college. As of August, Nick had completed nearly 600 jumps. Most of the time, he is jumping from 13,500 feet above ground. Nick’s goal is to become a
