CLASS NOTES | FALL 2024 | 63 trusted adviser to the Greek system in his role as alumni interfraternity president, and he is a highly regarded president of the Delta Chi Alumni Organization. I can vouch that what you see is what you get with Bill—he is a good friend, a good person, generous, kind and very deserving of this award. After dinner, I saw Eric Koehler and Anita (Hahn) Koehler, happy world travelers and fellow Floridians. Eric and Anita are retired and loving life. I met Susan (Evans) Baumann and her husband, Rene, for the first time since last reunion! They are a great couple, as charming as ever. Also, the Gamma Phi Beta women were in sort of a sisterly scrum which I was wont to disturb, but it did bring a tear to my eye to see such friendship. If you Gamma Phi Beta sisters read this column, please reach out to me so I can mention you in the next one. Speaking of columns, Steve Touhill (attending with his spouse, Joan) graciously thanked me for writing. Thanks for the shot in the arm, Steve! We did not want the evening to end, so a bunch of us headed to the bar in Wind Creek Casino for some talk and arm bending. Teresa (Kilcullen) Mueller, who I recognized immediately, came over to compliment the column. This is high praise coming from a longtime column writer and Brown & White alumna, and it added to the glow I got from scamming a 30-year Scotch from my fraternity brother. I have not mentioned all the 110+ classmates and friends who attended for lack of space and imagination. Please drop me a line and let me include you in the next column. ’85 Jennifer Sheehan, (240) 401-3724, jksheehan@aol.com We are coming up on our 40th reunion next year! In some ways it seems like just yesterday we were listening to John Irving speak at our graduation. It’s not too early to start talking to people about going back together to reunion weekend. If just one person in your living group or friend group gets the ball rolling, it helps to get everyone together. I love how our classmates can be found in literally every industry and so many unique niches. I did a little research to try to track down some people who haven’t been featured in this column before and see what they’ve been up to. I stumbled upon an update on Gus Yialamas, who is the president and chief flight instructor at Ace Pilot Training in Allentown. Karen Yackiel is ranked in the 2024 Crossfit Games for ages 60-64. Amazing! Alisa (Weinstein) Cahn is the controller for the Legal Aid Society of Rockland County in New York. Rob Ungvary is director of field reimbursements for Olympus Corporation of the Americas, a medical systems company. Tierney Vaughan is now a certified advanced yoga instructor in Vermont. Martha (Teese) Moir has homeschooled her six children and lives in South Carolina. Lisa (Tan) Nadler is the chief human resources officer at Integral Ad Science in New York. I did not know that Mark Roberts was the CEO of Morton Salt for many years, and also served on the board of its then-parent company, K + S. Sabra Townsend is the director of operations for the Jefferson Center for Autism and Neurodiversity in Bryn Mawr, Pa. She has also served as a leader in the PA Autism task force and works to improve services to people with special health care needs. Gregg Rogers is associate teaching professor of English at Penn State University at University Park. Jeff Pedigo is the owner and “chief tech guy” at VinVibe, a tech company serving the wine industry. ’86 Dave Polakoff, 400 E. 71st St., #3K, New York, NY 10021. david@dpolakoff.com. “I know stuff about you. And I know, yes, I know it’s true. And I know all about you.” (The Jellybricks) As you’ve gleaned by now, I have a “rock ’n’ roll heart” (I also would stop to gaze at a ’57 Chevy—quasi Eric Clapton), so it’s thrilling that (KPMG retiree— see column #104, Winter 2024) Lorraine Heinen enjoyed “a night to remember” at one of Billy Joel’s final MSG 150s. Alexandria, Va.’s, Craig and Diane (Paton) Beran had second-row seats to the Foo Fighters, sans daughter, Carolyn, a James Madison University sophomore and aspiring physical therapist. Diane is a CareFirst BlueCross/ BlueShield project coordinator, who remains close with cousin Steve Goldthwaite ’87 and her 421 Taylor Street housemates. Diane, after I “heard” the Foo Fighters (New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival), I invoke “The Who” and inquire of you, “Diane, Can You Hear Me?” That was one loud show. And, if any of you were at the MetLife Stones show and didn’t see me, were you really there (today’s musical question)? Diane’s update continued: Retired Jeff Turner ’83 and Lisa (Schroeder) Turner are grandparents. “Up Around the Bend (CCR),” Scott and Michelle (Miller) Davis live in Bend, Ore., enjoying yoga and paddleboarding, around Michelle’s novel writing (see recent columns, plus michellemdavis.net). She was “not stuck in Lodi (CCR),” but Patty von Schaumburg moved to Portland, Maine, and now visits fellow Delta Gamma and fellow Mainer Jane (Ehrhard) Mount. Maureen (Finnegan) Edelson, an unofficial Taylor Street housemate, is the medical director of the Blood Bank and Stem Cell Laboratory at Delaware’s Nemours Children’s Hospital. Maureen, and husband Craig, have five teen/ adult children, seven horses, three dogs and two cats. Now, back to the “rock ’n’ roll heart,” Barb (Marden) Satow’s son Max is a professional musician (performing as “Noshows”) (noshowsband. com); check out live performances in Brooklyn and Manhattan, plus Spotify (etc.) cuts. Son Jackson is an inside sales representative for the New England Revolution, MLS soccer team, and son Dylan is a rising junior at Columbia University. Diane has dropped the gauntlet: challenging other living groups to pony-up their updates. Speaking of music, Steve French has fond recollections of his WLVR show, though he dropped the mic and vinyl for engineer’s boots, a leather jacket and blue jeans (sounds too Danny Zuko) as a metallurgical engineer/failure analyst with Intertek in (cue Billy Joel) Allentown. Cathy (Musto) ’87 and Fred Pierce snowbird between Sea Girt and Naples (Fla., not Italy). Fred runs a Morgan Stanley wealth management team (well, someone didn’t sleep through Fin 225), which includes son Kevin (Wake Forest grad) amongst the advisers. Daughter Ashley (University of Miami grad) is a registered nurse in Orlando. Fred devotes time as treasurer of the Tri-County Scholarship Fund, offering K-12 scholarships for financially needy New Jersey children (tcsfund.org). Linda (Linahan ’87) and John Menna evacuated Atlanta (too “Gone With the Wind?”) for Cape Cod and Naples (Fla., not Italy). Son Chase ’18 is an investment banker in Manhattan (would be ironic if he worked for JPM Chase); son Collin (UVA ’20) is a consultant in Denver; and son Cam ’21 is a consultant in Boston. And if you were somewhere this summer and saw
