Shameless by Brian Tyler Cohen ’11 Cohen, a YouTuber and podcaster, gives his take on the current state of the Republican Party in this New York Times bestseller. He includes interviews with government officials, historians and journalists. Dugout Dreams: The Heart and Heartbreak of a Travel Baseball Team by Matt Leedy ’98 Leedy’s novella follows the story of a youth travel baseball coach, who determines which players will join the talented team. Along the way, the parents, players and coach experience the joy and difficulty of travel sports. Lehigh University has launched the Maida Education Abroad Grants, a $2 million endowment aimed at making international education accessible to students with high financial need. Made possible through the generosity of Sharon and James Maida ’85 ’17P ’19P, this initiative will allow 10 to 16 students annually to study, intern or conduct research abroad. The endowment will help unlock an additional $4 million matching gift from the Iacocca Family Foundation and an additional $1 million to support Lehigh’s overall global initiatives. “Global education is a cornerstone of Lehigh’s undergraduate experience,” said Lehigh President Joseph J. Helble ’82. “It prepares our students to lead in an interconnected world. The Maidas’ generous endowment will help us honor our commitment to empower even more global scholars.” The grants will enhance existing programs, allowing students who complete Passport to Success to apply for Maida Education Abroad Grants and potentially become Iacocca Global Leadership Scholars. The Maidas, long-time benefactors of Lehigh, have also contributed to various initiatives, including the Maida House residence hall and scholarships. James Maida is a current trustee.
