York, 575 West End Avenue #9A, New York, NY 10024; michael.york@nyplaw.com; (917) 575-9391 Last year I went to Reunion AND Lehigh-Lafayette! And I gave a donation to Lehigh on Giving Day! What does all of this mean? Well, quite obviously it means I have teenagers looking at colleges and I need to up my game if I am going to help get these kids into school. My academic record certainly will not help them. Sam Schwerin escaped NYC for Montana a few years ago. He and his wife are raising the kids in Bozeman. Their daughter Emma, now 17, began a quest two years ago to climb the Seven Summits— the highest mountains on each continent—after her eighthgrade English teacher decided to do a unit on Mt. Everest. They read “Into Thin Air” and “The Climb,” two different perspectives on the 1996 Everest disaster. That same year, she trekked 100 miles through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp and back, to see what it was like. She fell in love with the journey, the people that you meet along the way, the stories that you have time to tell and hear, the majesty of the mountains and the quest itself. By the time she returned to Montana, she was already thinking about what was next, and her quest to climb the Seven Summits was born. In December 2024, she became the youngest woman to summit Mt. Vinson, Antarctica, at age 16. As of this writing, she and Sam are in Nepal to climb Mt. Everest and Lhotse. Jill Triani and Jamie Flinchbaugh’s son, Ben, was admitted to the Class of ’29. He will be joining Jack ’26 on campus. Emma ’24 graduated with degrees in marketing and psychology. She moved to Milwaukee after graduation and is an assistant buyer at Kohl’s. Meredith (Robb) Ruckh is now the head coach at Orangetheory Carle Place on Long Island. She has worked for the company for more than a decade. Wilson Fung is still living in Hong Kong. Danielle Pasquale and her husband, Tom Gifford ’93, recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary. Their two boys just graduated from Fordham Gabelli School of Business (Alex Gifford) and Fordham Honors (Jack Gifford). Danielle is an administrative law judge in Newark, N.J. Jim Parker lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children. He is a pediatric emergency medicine physician and currently the regional medical officer for PM Pediatric Care. Over the summer, he had the opportunity to get together with Beth (Dechant) Dewalt and her husband, Luke Dewalt ’91. Jim’s kids: Anna (19) is at Rensselaer, Syd (17) is patiently awaiting word from schools, and Marcus (13). John Lupovici and Jessica (Berger) Lupovici’s son, Madox ’28, is a finance major at Lehigh and pledging Theta Chi. Sadly, Carey (Satterfield) Fanzone reported that Mike Oh (a brother at Chi Phi) passed away in late January from stage 4 lung cancer. Donations can be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in his memory. ’95 Bridget O’Connell, 1840 Sycamore St., Bethlehem, PA 18017. Jason Anhorn recently stepped into a new role as CEO of Council for Relationships, the oldest behavioral health nonprofit in Philadelphia. He now has the privilege of leading a team of about 150 therapists, psychiatrists and clinical interns who provide specialized, affordable care throughout the region. Elena Casacio-Kotsur, currently living in Bucks County, Pa., has been happily married for 24 years and has twins, who are sophomores in high school. Her son is following in her footsteps as a tennis player and hopes to play in college. Elena’s daughter is a track athlete, and they have been back to Lehigh several times over the last two years for winter track events at Rauch Field House! She shared that being at Rauch brings back so many great memories. She still plays tennis competitively and sees Jennifer (Jacobson) Nelson ’90 on the courts from time to time. In addition, Elena has been working in the architecture and interior design field since graduating from Lehigh. She recently joined HOK as a senior project manager and senior associate in their Philadelphia office. HOK is a global design firm, and they are celebrating their 70th anniversary this year. Elena is excited to be part of their team! She has a segment on NPR’s “Here and Now” to discuss the novel on April 25. (508) 543-5036; jen@keensense.com Greetings, Class of ’96! Can you believe our 30th Reunion is next year? I’ve been back to campus a few times in the past few years and can’t recommend a trip back enough. Lehigh still has the charm from when we attended, and the new academic buildings are top-notch and a great addition to campus. The Clayton UC renovation is now complete, and I look forward to seeing it on my next trip to see my son. Since our 25th Reunion was impacted by COVID, I hope we can get a great turnout for Reunion 2026! I’ve finally worked through the backlog of information from a few years ago and have nothing new to report on that end. Please send any updates my way for the next Bulletin! ’97 Lopa (Patel) Zielinski, Madison, NJ, Lpzielinski@gmail.com ’98 Gregory Kuklinski, gjk4@alum.lehigh.edu The next time you visit campus, you need to check out the new and improved Clayton University Center!
