Henston was a member of the Epitome, Mustard & Cheese, and Pi Lambda Phi. His child, Margo (Henston) Brundage, is a member of the Class of 1979. Daniel S. Klein ’54, Hollywood, Fla., Sept. 2, 2024. Klein worked for Eastern Airlines, retiring as vice president of planning. He was the editor-in-chief of The Brown and White and chaired the Class of 1954’s 50th Reunion yearbook. Carl H. Albright ’55, Chicago, Ill., Oct. 19, 2024. As a student, Albright was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Phi Beta Kappa. He was a professor at Northern Illinois University; his specialty was neutrinos. He was a member of the Asa Packer Society, and his parent, Ralph Albright, was a member of the Class of 1929. Frederick J. Warnecke Jr. ’55, Greensboro, N.C., Dec. 8, 2024. Warnecke was a deacon and rector in the Episcopal Church. Richard T. Douty ’56, Columbia, Mo., Oct. 17, 2024. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, Douty was a civil engineer who helped design for the space program, created bridge design software and worked as a professor for 30 years at University of Missouri, Columbia. Stephen Iannotta Jr. ’56, Rehoboth, Del., Dec. 16, 2024. A member of Theta Xi fraternity, Iannotta retired as the director of corporate services for Air Products. Robert H. Robinson ’56, Schaumburg, Ill., Nov. 1, 2024. Robinson was a veteran of the U.S Army during World War II. His parent, John Robinson, was a member of the Class of 1923. Walter B. Smith ’56, Bethlehem, Pa., Sept. 17, 2024. Smith worked for Bethlehem Steel as a claims adjuster. James E. Haas Jr. ’57, Barrington, R.I., Dec. 20, 2024. A member of Sigma Phi, Haas owned #1 Tire. Walter F. Mannherz ’57, Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 29, 2024. Mannherz was a Chi Psi member and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as division president from SKF and then owned and operated Mannherz Associates. He volunteered with Lehigh sports and his class extensively and was honored with the Alumni Award in 2017. A member of WLVR, Morrow continued broadcasting with television and radio stations around Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. Harris M. Briggs was a member of Beta Theta Phi. He made his career in commercial banking. As an alumnus, he was very involved with planning class reunions and was honored with the Alumni Award in 2018. His children, Richard Briggs ’86 and Brian Briggs ’89, are members of the Lehigh family. Robert P. de Bussy ’58, St. Pete Beach, Fla., Oct. 20, 2024. De Bussy was a member of Theta Xi and the Marching 97. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He made his career with DuPont Company. George Richard Elston ’58, San Mateo, Calif., Oct. 19, 2024. Elston was an Alpha Tau Omega member. John E. Wright ’58, Wheeling, W.V., July 17, 2024. Wright was president of Sigma Chi and captain of the tennis team. He worked for Wheeling Steel for nearly three decades before taking on the role of president and COO of Wheeling-Nisshin Inc. He also served as CFO for several higher education institutions. John J. Elengo ’59, Cheshire, Conn., Sept. 17, 2024. Elengo served in the U.S. military during the Cold War. He retired after a career in engineering and general management as the vice president and manager of Revere Corporation. George H. Lewis III ’59, Akron, Ohio, Dec. 14, 2024. Lewis was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. John R. McHugh ’59, Greenwich, Conn., Dec. 12, 2024. A Sigma Phi Epsilon member, McHugh worked in research and development for IBM for over 30 years. After retiring, he became a business owner of Paul Davis Systems and Confectioner’s International. Andrew Montano ’59, Lewes, Del., Oct. 23, 2024. A member of Pi Kappa Alpha, Montano was a professor at Ocean County College. His child, Andrew Montano, is a member of the Class of 1986. Myron Rosner ’59, Fort Lee, N.J., Aug. 24, 2024. Rosner worked as an attorney. He was also a member of the Tower Society. Donald L. Talhelm ’59 M.S. ’60, Collingswood, N.J., Nov. 10, 2024. Talhelm served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He taught electrical engineering at Lehigh for 35 years. His children, Karen Talhelm Knauer ’78 and Kevin Talhelm ’81, are members of the Lehigh family. Marvin W. Waid ’59, Oley, Pa., Oct. 1, 2024. Waid was a professional engineer. Atwood L. Welker Jr. ’59, Williamsport, Pa., Sept. 11, 2024. An Alpha Sigma Phi member, Welker worked as a civil engineer with PennDOT for 30 years. 1960s Raymond Dominici ’60, Salters, S.C., Nov. 27, 2024. Dominici was a member of the Gryphon Society, Theta Delta Chi, and the lacrosse and swim teams. Matthew G. Zellner ’60 M.S. ’63 Ph.D. ’70, Allentown, Pa., Nov. 23, 2024. Richard B. Lambert Jr. ’61, Gaithersburg, Md., Oct. 7, 2024. Lambert was a Gryphon and member of the Glee Club. He was also a Fulbright scholar. He went on to serve as professor of oceanography at the University of Rhode Island and program director for physical oceanography at the National Science Foundation. David R. Schelling ’61, Oakland, Md., Sept. 11, 2024. Schelling was a professor emeritus at University of Maryland, College Park, where he founded the BEST Center for research in engineering. James G. Schmoyer ’61, Germansville, Pa., Dec. 13, 2024. Schmoyer retired as senior vice president for ALPO after 30 years. His child, Sally Schmoyer Eosefow ’83, is a member of the Lehigh family. Clifton A. Lando ’62, Green Valley, Ariz., Nov. 3, 2024. Lando was a professor of mathematics for the University of Alaska for over 30 years. James H. McCrady IV ’62, Lake City, Fla., Nov. 8, 2024. A member of Lambda Chi Alpha, McCrady served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Stanley J. Vlasak ’63, Westford, Mass., April 25, 2024. Vlasak was a Phi Sigma Kappa member.
