CLASS NOTES | SPRING 2025 | 73 graduating from Wake Forest University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences/School of Medicine with a master’s degree in biomedical research. As part of her thesis she worked on a project aimed at determining if undernutrition has a direct correlation with cardiovascular and kidney health. She presented her thesis research at national conferences and is working to publish her work in scientific journals. After getting her master’s, Kayla joined a team at Atrium Health Carolina Medical Center, in the center’s trauma and acute care surgery department. She works directly with patients involved in clinical studies along with their team of trauma surgeons. I am very excited to see what she does next! As always, please let me know if there is any news that you would like to share in the Alumni Bulletin with your peers. This can be anything, including weddings, graduations, career accomplishments or non-work accomplishments. Looking forward to hearing from you! ’23 Declan Coster, declanmcoster@ gmail.com Class of 2023! If you missed the last Bulletin, here is a quick introduction to me. My name is Declan Coster, and I’ll be writing these class columns to share updates on how the Class of ’23 is taking on the world. Please share any news, updates or memories with me that you would like included in future columns. You can reach me by email (declanmcoster@ gmail.com). My last column included an update on my group of friends that were often in my Thomas Street house. In this column I will focus on my other set of roommates, my girlfriend’s roommates. Miranda Asral has had an eventful post-college experience so far. First, Miranda started working in New York City as a graphic designer for DBI, a construction consulting company. After spending all that time around buildings and plans, she knew there was something else she wanted to do, so she returned to school to become an architect. Miranda now spends most of her days drafting, drawing and modeling between NJIT and Florham Park, N.J. In her free time, Miranda likes to relax with a nice cocktail or make a delicious meal. (Miranda has not yet found a way to get rid of me.) Alexis Soulias moved out to California to work for Keysight Technologies in a research and development role. Outside of work, Alexis has become an avid fan of pickleball and has been hiking, surfing and exploring her way through Northern California. Continuing her love of music, Alexis has been turning her room into a little studio for guitar and keyboard. Missy Connolly has worked two jobs since graduating. She started as a paralegal in her home state of New Jersey determining if the legal field was right for her. A year in, Missy realized it was not her path. She then took a 180 and moved to Auburn, Ala., as a data analyst to explore a new part of the country and a new career. Missy spends her time exploring her other passions, including history and baseball. As always, GO SOX! Christina Perrier moved back to New York City and landed her dream job as assistant editor of InStyle magazine, where she put her Brown & White skills to work to write her first culture feature, “Horror’s Final Girls Are Finally Winning” (instyle.com/horror-is-the-it-girlgenre-8700262). When she’s not covering all things celebrity, you can likely find her reading in a café in Greenpoint or experimenting with a new recipe. ’24 Kyra Boston, kruthb11@gmail. com Happy spring, Class of 2024! It is crazy to think that almost a year has passed since we walked across the stage in Goodman Stadium and began our next chapters. As I have been settling into my own routine, I have found myself missing Lehigh and excited for the opportunities to return to campus and catch up with friends. Luckily, I had the pleasure of returning to campus to represent Gannett Fleming Transystems at the Lehigh-Lafayette ASCE Civil Engineering Career Fair. It was great to see familiar faces among those in attendance, especially former classmates. In catching up with some former classmates, it made me realize a number of congratulations are in order to those who continued their studies at Lehigh over the past year and will soon graduate with an additional degree, whether it be a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree. Matthew McChesney graduated alongside our class in May of 2024, receiving a B.S. in integrated business and engineering. After graduation, Matthew returned to Lehigh this fall to complete another semester and graduated with a B.S. in civil engineering in January of 2025. During our Commencement, Emily Michnowski graduated with an Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Sciences. Emily has continued her studies at Lehigh and will now graduate with a B.S. in chemical engineering this May. Zoe Tashlik achieved a B.A. in political science and education following our commencement. To follow her bachelor’s degree, Zoe enrolled in Lehigh’s College of Education, from which she will be receiving a master’s in education this May. Alongside Matt, Emily and Zoe is a list of other Class of ’24 alumni who will likely be walking across the stage in Goodman Stadium again. To all of these students, congratulations and good luck as you yet again turn the page to a new chapter! I cannot wait to hear about it! Get in touch with me about your accomplishments and updates! I would love to hear from everyone and share the updates with our fellow classmates. My inbox is open and empty! Email me at kruthb11@ gmail.com, or you can find me on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn. ’25 Stephanie Kasulka, sek225@lehigh.edu ’26 Amanda Rowan, abr226@lehigh.edu Welcome back Mountain Hawks! I’m so happy to be back, and in some more exciting news, our football team secured the Patriot League title this fall, congratulations! Following the monumental win over our rival Lafayette, it was a proud day to be a Mountain Hawk. Now, let’s get back to our usual programming. As the Class of 2026 prepares for study abroad trips, let’s see what our class is up to! Natalie Werbel, originally from Barrington, R.I., will be spending her study abroad traveling all around the world, as she partakes in the CIEE Open Campus Program. She’ll spend five weeks each in three different countries, beginning in Santiago, Chile, then flying to Rome, Italy, and then finishing out the program in Madrid, Spain. Natalie, a community and global health major, said that she decided on this program because she recognized the extensive public health educational opportunities within Latin American countries, while still being able to visit and travel through all of Europe. As a Spanish minor, she knew she wanted to visit Spanish-speaking countries in order to fully immerse herself. When she found a program
