CLASS NOTES | SPRING 2025 | 69 she no longer plays much tennis, she enjoys pickleball, boxing and yoga. She is still close with the AXO girls. Erica lives in Charlotte near Danielle Martinez Cimato. I’d love to hear what’s new with you so I can share more updates in the next issue. I need your help! Please reach out to me at LCarino@att.net or connect on Facebook at Laura Schwamb Carino to share just a few things about what you’re doing and where you are in the world! Your classmates and I are eager to catch up! Stay tuned for more updates in the spring! ’03 Jessica DeSantis-Berg, jessicadesantisberg@yahoo.com Hi again, Class of ’03! Did anyone catch the full profile on Matt Salvaterra in the summer Bulletin? If you missed it, check it out—he went from Patriot League scholar-athlete football player to organic farmer. It wasn’t long after that summer edition when I got a note from Shelita (Burks) Saint-Louis. Shelita shared that since graduating from Lehigh, she has worked in acquisitions/ procurement on behalf of the federal government at the Department of the Interior. She is currently a division chief and senior contracting officer. In 2024, Shelita was inducted into the Hall of Fame for both basketball and track and field at her high school, South Lakes High School in Reston, Va. (She is now honored in the same Hall of Fame as fellow SLHS alum and NBA great Grant Hill!) Then, in the fall, Shelita finished a four-week intensive executive leadership skills program on-campus at the Harvard Kennedy School: the Senior Executive Fellows program. Congratulations on both accomplishments, Shelita! We’re very proud of you! In November, I also caught up with Joe Di Mattina when he and his family came up for the 160th Lehigh-Lafayette game. Joe joined Northrop Grumman after graduating and was deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq, for a year as a consultant in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2005, he began work at another company as a cyber security consultant in downtown Baltimore. Over the years, Joe married, showed up on HGTV, owned a bar, and became active in the community of Patterson Park—even serving as the president of the community association. In 2018, Joe and his wife started a cybersecurity consulting firm, 8-Bit Int. Their 50+ consultants focus on supporting the cyber mission of national defense agencies. Joe currently lives in Baltimore City with his wife and two sons, and continues to be active in the community and in youth baseball as a coach and sponsor to various teams in the region. As you can see, we all have our stories to tell. So what’s yours? Let me know what you’ve been doing since we moved away from campus! ’04 Editor’s note: Our many thanks to Lloyd Henderson for his eight years of volunteerism. Please welcome Michael Zarat as the new correspondent. He can be reached at 202-549-2222, or mzurat@gmail.com. ’05 Jessi (Schimmel) McMullan, jessi. mcmullan@alum.lehigh.edu I hope you’ve already saved the date for our 20th Reunion June 12-15, 2025! Our committee (Marinee (Cabrera) Lees, Meg Munley Stone, Mal Taylor, Ohen Afriyie, Jason McMullan, Hetal Jani and me) has been working hard to plan a great weekend and reach out to as many of you as possible. Thursday night will be the Brown and White Awards ceremony. Friday has lots of tours of all the changes to campus and speakers, plus ReunionFest with all the classes celebrating their reunions. Then we’ll have a late-night gathering of ’05ers. Saturday is the Parade of Classes and a special family-friendly event for our little ones. Our class dinner will be that evening. You should have received info in March, but you can also find everything and register at alumni.lehigh.edu/reunion. I reached out to my fellow Brown and White editor-in-chief, John Misinco, who “… was recently named editor-in-chief of The Morning Call, the long-running Lehigh Valley newspaper. John … has been busy working in local journalism ever since graduating, working to help steer legacy media organizations into the digital age. It’s something he did during his Lehigh days as well when he was named the first managing editor online of The Brown and White prior to becoming editor. John has been with The Morning Call for more than a decade, and soon after joining, quickly became a digital leader in the newspaper’s parent company, which has included properties such as the Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News and The Baltimore Sun. He also was able to reunite with the legendary Bill White ’74, a longtime local columnist at the Call who was one of his instructors in the Lehigh journalism department— and a fellow Brown and White editor himself. Prior to becoming editor-in-chief, John’s role as digital editor at the Call was expanded to oversee all of MediaNews Group’s Pennsylvania and New Jersey properties.” I also saw that our own Jessica De Palo was inducted into the Lehigh Athletics Hall of Fame for her basketball prowess. I reached out to see what she’s up to now. After graduation, Jessica stayed to get her first master’s degree in technology-based elementary education in 2006. She also completed a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Columbia University. She is currently a certified doctoral student at Teachers College, Columbia University and completed a Fulbright-EDUFI Fellowship in Jyväskylä, Finland, in 2022. Her research during her Fulbright fellowship looked at student-athlete career adaptabilities in relation to well-being, career construction, student and sport identity, and school and sport burnout. She is currently in her 14th year as Columbia’s senior associate athletics director for success through well-being. Named to her position in August 2011, she oversees all day-to-day operations for Columbia’s Success Through Well-Being program, including academics, career development, mental performance, sports nutrition and well-being. Jessica is the proud aunt of five nieces and nephews. She stays in touch with the Lehigh Athletics administration, coaches and teammates. She says, “I will always be grateful for the support of the administration, coaches and my teammates. My teammates are my best friends; they are the true example of friendship.” ’06 Kevin Frost, Kevin.Frost@alum. lehigh.edu I’m back with a short column this time. Please continue to send in updates! Email me at any time or connect on LinkedIn. Matt Brophy and his wife, Sarah, welcomed their first child, a daughter (Sloane) in October 2024! Matt and his family recently returned to the western Philadelphia suburbs after a short stint in southern Delaware to try something new in the post-COVID, remote work landscape. Congrats, Matt! Ryan O’Donnell hiked the full 2,200-mile length of the Appalachian Trail, beginning in Georgia and ending in Maine. The hike took place over four and a half months in spring and summer 2024. What an accomplishment! A few of us from the Class of 2006 enjoyed a fun Friday and Saturday on South Mountain for the Lehigh-Lafayette game. Some things haven’t changed (like the interior of the Goose),
