Seltzer M.A. ’53. South Whitehall Township, Pa., Sept. 28, 2023. Seltzer served in the U.S. Army during World War II. For nearly forty years, he was a business education teacher in the Parkland School District. Allan R. Ritchie M.S. ’55, Haddonfield, N.J., Sept. 24, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, Ritchie worked for Modjeski & Masters Engineering Consultants, designing bridges and roadways for over 30 years. His child, Philip Ritchie ’98G, is a member of the Lehigh family. James P. Wightman M.S. ’58 Ph.D. ’60, Blacksburg, Va., Nov. 20, 2023. Wightman taught courses in chemistry at Virginia Tech, guided masters and doctoral-level students, as well as conducted research in the field of adhesive science for 42 years. Ronald W. Stingelin M.S. ’59, State College, Pa., Nov. 5, 2023. Stingelin co-founded Resources Technologies Corp., where he practiced as a certified and professional geologist specializing in abandoned mines and mineral resource appraisals. Richard B. Yeager M.A. ’59 M.A. ’61, Bethlehem, Pa., Dec. 10, 2023. Yeager was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a teacher and administrator for the Bethlehem Area School District for 33 years. His spouse, Janet Yeager, held a graduate degree from Lehigh. Thomas P. Krehnbrink M.S. ’60, W. Brandywine, Pa., Aug. 7, 2023. Krehnbrink retired as an engineering manager from Newport News Shipbuilding. Thomas D. Ott M.S. ’60, Allentown, Pa., Dec. 3, 2023. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Ott taught math for 39 years. Carmen J. Riola M.A. ’60, Estero, Fla., Sept. 8, 2023. Riola served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was superintendent of the Parkland School District before working as director of educational services for KidsPeace National Centers for Kids in Crises. Harold M. Wynne M.A. ’61 Ed.D. ’68, Pottstown, Pa., Sept. 2, 2023. Wynne retired as the superintendent of Unionsville Chadds Ford Schools. Richard L. Black M.Ed. ’63, Emmaus, Pa., Sept. 9, 2023. Black was a math teacher at Emmaus High School for 33 years and founded the swim team. He also worked as a real estate broker for 40 years. Emeline W. Cliff M.Ed. ’64, Bethlehem, Pa., Oct. 15, 2023. Cliff worked as a nurse and home school visitor for Bethlehem Area School District for 25 years. Edward E. Roth M.Ed. ’64, Salisbury Township, Pa., Nov. 24, 2023. Roth was an elementary school principal in the Parkland School District for 19 years and was with Parkland for more than 26 years before retiring. Ernest Price M.S. ’65, Clemmons, N.C., Aug. 8, 2023. Price served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an electrical engineer for Western Electric and AT&T. George R. Shanno M.A. ’65, M.Ed. ’67, Conyngham, Pa., Sept. 1, 2023. Shanno was a history teacher in the Hazelton Area School District for 40 years. Anna (Krajsa) Snyder M.Ed. ’65, New Canaan, Conn., Nov. 22, 223. Snyder was an educator, focusing on both special needs and gifted students, teaching in public schools and at the Swain School. Her spouse, Christopher Snyder ’64, and child, Susan (Snyder) Holland ’90, are members of the Lehigh family. Wayne H. Bilder M.A. ’66, Raubsville, Pa., Dec. 2, 2023. Bilder was a chemistry teacher at Dieruff High School for 30 years. Walter W. Powell M.S. ’66, Peculiar, Mo., Sept. 1, 2023. Powell worked on the Semi-Automatic Ground Environment (SAGE) project for Western Electric/AT&T. Irma (Kammerer) Schoeppner M.A. ’66, Williams Township, Pa., Oct. 13, 2023. Schoeppner worked as a surveyor, a teacher of languages at Moravian Academy and as an industrial designer for Ingersoll Rand. Stephen S. Strunck M.S. ’66 Ph.D. ’71, Lititz, Pa., Dec. 16, 2023. Strunck worked as a research engineer for several companies, and in intellectual property as an attorney, retiring from IBM. His child, Brian Strunck, is a member of the Class of 1996. Betty (Schiffer) Diamond M.Ed. ’67, Bethlehem, Pa., Nov. 26, 2023. Diamond was the co-owner of The Fabric Center and later Diamond’s Wholesale Fabrics of Bethlehem. Samuel W. Haupt M.Ed. ’67, Sunbury, Pa., Oct. 17, 2023. Haupt worked as a guidance counselor for 20 years, he also coached and advised many student clubs. Robert W. Landis M.A. ’67, Richmond, Ind., Dec. 7, 2023. Landis worked for the Tappan Company. Conrad O. Miller M.S. ’67, Beulah, Mich., Dec. 27, 2023. Miller was a chemical engineer for Dow Chemical. Walter N. Fedio M.Ed. ’68, Orefield, Pa., Sept. 25, 2023. Fedio was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist for over 20 years for the Whitehall School District. Erwin Suess Ph.D. ’68, Corvallis, Ore., Sept. 28, 2023. Suess was a professor of oceanography at Oregon State University before working as the director of GEOMAR Helmholtz Centrefor Ocean Research. George R. Williams M.Ed. ’69, Williams Township, Pa., Dec. 19, 2023. Williams served as an administrator for the Northampton IU 20. Linda Rambler M.A. ’70, Middletown, Pa., Nov. 5, 2023. Rambler worked to further library and information services in settings ranging from Selinsgrove Junior-Senior High School, to Army libraries abroad in Germany, to Lehigh University, and Penn State at University Park. Lynn L. Ackler Ph.D. ’71, Talent, Ore., Oct. 10, 2023. Ackler worked as a professor at Southern Oregon University. Edward K. Whitby M.A. 71, Allentown, Pa., Oct. 18, 2023. Whitby was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for Parkland School District as a teacher and principal. Mildred L. Booz M.Ed. ’72, Montrose, Colo., Oct. 21, 2023. Robert J. Frank did analytical work for the Pentagon before becoming an assistant professor of mathematics at The King’s College in New York, Seton Hill College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and Westmoreland County Community College. Stephen F. Kralik M.Ed. ’72, Bethlehem, Pa., June 23, 2023. Kralik was a teacher and athletic director at Freedom High School in the Bethlehem Area School District. Alfred A. Nichols was a professor of mathematics at Colorado State University – Pueblo for 46 years. Taner F. Ozkaynak Ph.D. ’74, Istanbul, Turkey, Sept. 2023. Ozkaynak worked on nuclear power plant safety projects for the AAE and GE companies. He taught at ITU in Turkey and Lehigh University. John J. Thomas M.Ed. ’76, Easton, Pa., Oct. 16, 2023.
