21-22 LTS Annual Report

Greg Reihman, Vice Provost for Library and Technology Services, began serving on the Finance Committee and the Governance Committee of the Board of Directors of KINBER (Keystone Initiative for Network Based Education and Research), a Pennsylvania-based non-profit corporation that provides broadband connectivity, fosters collaboration, and promotes the innovative use of digital technologies throughout the state. Sharon Wiles-Young, Director of Library Access Services, was reelected to serve another year on the FOLIO Product Council and she agreed to serve as a co-facilitator for the PALCI Retrospective Collections Work Group this year. Holly Zakos, Senior Instructional Technologist, joined the Advocate Gender Violence Support Team at Lehigh. PRESENTATIONS Rebecca Bruneio, Senior Cataloging Assistant, and Hope Sagnip, Interlibrary Loan/Metadata Specialist, presented “In Libraries We Loan: Get Your Jam on with Interlibrary Loan Free Through Lehigh Libraries” at Lehigh University ERAC Staff Development Day, 2022. Tarah Cicero, Senior Instructional Technologist, co-presented a poster virtually in the Virbela platform for "The Mystery of Lehigh Gap: Game-based VR for Informal Learning" at the Immersive Learning and Research Network Conference (iLRN 2022). She presented with Alec Bodzin, Robson Araujo Junior, Josie Koelsch, Mayra Arnoat Perez, Udita Agarwal, Marcos Escobar, David Anastasio, Thomas Hammond, Brian Birchak, Junchen Bao, Yiting Chen, Xiangyu Hu, E.J. Rovella, Laura Sary, Matthew Silverman and Hayley Whitney of Lehigh University, and Chad Schwartz, Lehigh Gap Nature Center. May 2022. Cicero and Lehigh's Dr. Farah Vallera, presented "Using Making, Play, and Place to Engage Adult Learners" at ISTE Live 2022. June 2022. Ilhan Citak, Archives and Special Collections Librarian, and Heather Simoneau, Humanities Librarian, presented "Revisiting the "Problem of Coeducation" Fifty Years Later" in a Lehigh Alumni Association Mountain Talk. March 2022. Citak also served on the Program Committee and facilitated a session titled "Gettysburg as Sites of Memory" at the MARAC MidAtlantic Regional Archives Conference in Gettysburg, PA. October 2021. Chris Creswell, Senior Analyst, presented at Code4Lib about Lehigh's implementations of two open-source library systems: OLE and FOLIO. Creswell, Chulin Meng, Director of Library Technology, and Michelle Suranofsky, Senior Analyst, collaborated on writing the slides. May 2022 Greg Edwards, Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, and Phil Hewitt, Senior Engineering and Electronic Collections Librarian, presented "Understanding and Using COUNTER in Collection Analysis" at the Northern Ohio Technical Services Librarians (NOTSL) Spring Meeting 2022. Erica Gluszynski, Manager of Information Systems, Enterprise Systems, and Ilena Key, Chief Technology Officer, presented at Ellucian Live in Denver, CO "One University's Road to Modernization: Moving Banner to the Cloud." Phillip Hewitt, Senior Engineering Librarian, presented “Testing Assumptions and Telling New Narratives with Usage Data” at the Northern Ohio Technical Services Librarians (NOTSL) Spring 2022 Meeting. Hewitt, Matthew Jabaily (UC Colorado Springs) and Arthur Aguilera (UC Boulder) presented “Using COUNTER R5 Item Reports to Understand Article Use” at the Electronic Resources & Libraries (ER&L) 2022 Annual Conference. Hewitt also presented “Considering Usage by Year of Publication and Third Party Access in Journal Renewal Reviews” at the Charleston Library Conference 2021, and presented JoVE for High Schools: Partnering to Bring Science Education Videos to Local Students" and “Using OverDrive for Diversity and Inclusion Collections and Outreach in an Academic Library" at the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) 2021 Annual Conference. Andy Januszak, Senior Analyst, Daniel Huang, Resource Acquisitions Manager, and Boaz Nadav-Manes, University Librarian, co-presented at the annual Electronic Resources & Libraries conference where their presentation, "Beyond the Clipboard: Jira for Eresource Oversight and Accountability" was a top 3 finalist for the Technology from SAGE Innovators Award. Alex Japha, Digital Archives and Special Collections Librarian, presented at the Keystone DH Conference "Roundtable on Collaborative Use of Historical Police Records." July 15, 2021. He also presented at the MARAC Conference "Gettysburg as a Site of Memory." October 2021. Lisa McColl, Metadata Services Manager, presented "Cataloging by Design" as part of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries' "Cool Things We've Cataloged" series.
