2021 Stabler Donor Impact Report R4

BUSINESS Name: Ahmed Yazdani Hometown: Lahore Cantt. Punjab, Pakistan Major: Finance Class: 2023 Favorite activity: Finance Favorite faculty or staff: Professor Tamara Lambert, Accounting Dream job: Philanthropist and Investment Banking Lehigh gives me a chance to take a deep breath and then run a marathon. It has been the pillar of exposure for me in my life and has allowed me to experience many new things. As a dual national (U.S. and Pakistan), who has lived almost all of his life in Pakistan, Lehigh has given me the opportunity to travel across the globe and into an environment so friendly and professional that it aches me if I do not excel. It aches me in a positive way — a way in which I think about life and how it has brought me to my nest, Lehigh. I am more than happy to be representing the Brown and White and to carry Lehigh’s name with me as it helps me excel during my tenure here and beyond. Lehigh has guided me and helped me through thick and thin. My goals have been shaped by the professional outlook Lehigh has provided me with. It has taught me how to be a better human being, how to talk, how to socialize, and how to stand out. My goals are always changing. Throughout my time at Lehigh, I have seen myself achieving small goals, and they have brought me closer to my bigger goals. I am ever thankful to Lehigh and its professional staff for teaching me the skills I need to be a better professional and a better human being. I am someone who is a great advocate for change. I believe change is something which is inevitable. Plus, I believe change is for the better. I feel as if I have been brought into this world for a higher purpose. My purpose is to be financially free at one point in life and then help the people around me. I see helping as not just a one-way transaction, but I believe it comes back to you in one form or another. I for one have experienced it first hand multiple times. Giving back means to rotate the blessings you have into society so that the underprivileged can have a chance to shine. I consider giving back to be one of the finest pleasures in life because true happiness is through giving. The self satisfaction of helping, feeling empathy, and being consider- ate are things people in this busy world tend to forget. However, for me, it is the essence of life. One should find their purpose and meaning in life. For me, my purpose is to give back to society in any way possible — how big or how small does not matter. What matters is the intention and the mean- ing behind it. I am very grateful to have become a member of the Lehigh family. This family is a major support sys- tem for me during my time at Lehigh. I am thankful to the donors and the alumni who try so hard to make Lehigh better. I hope they keep on doing what they are doing so the students keep on achiev- ing more. Thank you!
