2021 Stabler Donor Impact Report R4

ARTS AND SCIENCES Name: Elizabeth Robbins-Cole Hometown: Wellesley, MA Major: International Relations and Economics Class: 2023 Favorite activity: Pi Beta Phi Sorority Favorite faculty or staff: Professor Mary Anne Madeira, International Relations Dream job: CEO of The Bar Method My life goals have always been to strive for success. Lehigh is one of the many stops in my life where I can continue to learn and see what I need to feel fulfilled and successful. I have learned that having a great group of loving, supportive, and goofy friends makes me feel fulfilled. I also feel happy and proud of myself when I write a research paper for one of my interna- tional relations classes. I have been able to learn from my expe- riences at Lehigh about how I can balance my life to achieve my goal of living a successful, fulfilled life. Lehigh is the perfect environment with students that are moti- vated, and, more importantly, we build each other up. Students at Lehigh collaborate and motivate each other to make sure we are all putting our best foot forward. I never have to go to the library alone or feel confused about my classes because I know my classmates will be there for me. My peers at Lehigh make me want to succeed and keep me motivated to succeed at school. The biggest project I have taken on is being the chapter presi- dent of Pi Beta Phi. This past January, I took on this role, and it has taken up a big portion of my time. We have had to learn and adapt to what it means to be in a sorority during a pandemic, which has been incredibly challenging, but it is also rewarding. It has brought me so much joy to be able to figure out ways to bring my sisters “together,” even if that means being together on Zoom. My favorite class I have taken at Lehigh is Introduction to Entrepreneurship. Professor Costa allows us to simulate entrepreneurship and learn by doing. I do not consider myself to be a particularly creative person, but I have been able to create products and presentations in this class that I never would have thought I could do. This class allows me to tap into my creativity and have a look into what being an entrepreneur is truly about. To me, giving back is acknowledging and appreciating the help that someone or something has given you. I know that my life is better and will be better because I have Lehigh in my life. I know that my knowledge has grown, and I know that I will eventually join a loving and exciting alum- ni network. I want everyone to be able to experience life at Lehigh, and the way to ensure that this happens is by giving back. To me, giving back means giving time or financial assistance with the goal of allowing a community to thrive and grow so that others can experience what you experienced and more. Thank you for helping me attend Lehigh and for the support of the Stabler Scholarship.
